With the amount of time staff are sick on this channel.

You would think Alex would be a great addition, because He can Guest but Also present.

On the old Create and Craft, you had Dawn Wheeler, who was a guest for years, But would then Guest and Present at same time if needed, she ended up as a Guest and a Presenter.

I’m not saying they should employ her, but you feel Alex could do a simular role, we Know he travels, But you feel he could be used better

Hi guys - I hope all is well :). I did ask again about the direct price comparisons being on the screen and this is something they are working on still. It’s getting permission off that company / website to show it at that price on their site…so that’s where the delay is. We aren’t allowed to just say ‘B&Q’ have it here or ‘the range have it for x’ without some form of agreement. :)

I also appreciate your comments previously as well and have a responsibility myself here to not give of the wrong impression as I can tell you for me - I don’t feel bullied at all and it is meant to be just poking a bit of fun which I am happy and do laugh along with.

However - it’s how it’s seen at home that is important. So we have a responsibility to make sure no one see’s it in a negative light which hasn’t been communicated well enough by us (because of your kind concern above) so I need to make that clear so viewers at home don’t get the wrong impression. So something to work on for sure.

I also will never complain about the hours Jazzy because I love the job and that is part of the job I do. If I’m needed to be on in the morning and then the evening I try to do some work in the gaps, try and help source other / newer products for the channel and get on well with the crew.

I would love to post a behind the scenes video on here and give you an insight into a day in the world of shopping tv and I might ask if I can do this. It won’t be a IW promotional video so don’t worry about that - it’s the same across all the shopping channels I have worked at (well it has been for me anyway) in terms of the people I work with that make the industry so enjoyable to be apart of.

Because it’s live and so many things can and do go wrong you are constantly on the go, things are changing literally as you are on air and you just try to adapt to them as best you can :). But that part does give it a buzz and it’s a crew of people all working together to make an hour work and fix whatever issues may arise. And that’s everywhere, everyday. IW, Old IW, QVC - across the board. Some have more issues than others but when you are working with different people, ages, backgrounds and experience etc - that is the joy for me. It’s never about being on tv to try and grow a career for myself to see if I can present bigger and better things. I love doing this and demonstrating different products.

So - if they do ask me to main present - I’m happy to fill in for someone if they are sick or car trouble etc…but otherwise I like to stick to the guest / demonstrator role.
Main presenting is so hard to do (in my opinion) because you have to entertain for 4 hours solid, make sure you are making sales, accept that you aren’t going to be everyone’s first choice, deal with the criticism and the concentration levels have to be 100% for those 4 hours. You say the wrong thing once and can be picked up on every word.
And that’s the job so I’m not asking my for sympathy for anyone, I’m just saying I couldn’t do it day in and out for 4 hours at a time. On Xmas day by the 3rd hour I was getting on my own nerves because I felt I was just repeating everything over and over. But it’s knowing that as well as having regular viewers who buy items of just watch, there is always someone new coming into the shop literally every 2 minutes so you need to repeat the sale and the patter again for their benefit.

That’s the same for all channels and I respect all of my colleagues that do this job because it’s tough. Some will be better than others. Some are liked more than others.

Blimey - if it’s not bad enough me jabbering on the tele - I’m now doing it on here 😂😂.

Like I have always said though - this forum is important and I’m glad I’m part of it. Some of the criticism is harsh, some of it is correct and there are always areas we can improve on and should try to do so. Me as a guest and all the channels, not just IW.
If I’m allowed I will ask if I can do a video to show everything we do in a day, how it works etc as it may give a better insight into everything you see and watch when we go to air.
I’m away on holiday next Wednesday so if I can get this done I’ll let you know and probably do it when I get back.
Hope your fences and houses are still intact wherever you are and no one has blown away 😁👍.

Regarding Behind the Scenes I know Sally Jacks done that before, but that was the Previous IW when based in Peterborough

Oh gawd Torchy on with the slimming belt. I hope it doesn’t short circuit with his belt buckle.💥💥🤣
Christ the amount of time he spent on that slimming belt. It must of been in the region of 1.5 hours.
I've never seen anyone else demonstrating that item in that way before.
I assume he likes to pose and show off his nips!
☺️😉🤣

It was the way he was saying only use it for like 10 minutes
I didn't see much of the presentation. It's not something I would consider using or buying given the near £300 price tag.
Was just flicking over from time to time to see was going to be next.
We don't generally watch much Torchy find him annoying, boring and a bit creepy.

He was selling other things later, and still had it on

You have my support and my continued respect, General. Trumpet Boy Mason and others in the lower ranks should follow your upright military descriptive bearing and your honourable retail deployment manoeuvres.

Hi Alex, I'm glad that you don't feel bullied but you're absolutely right in that how it is perceived is the important thing.

I would never ask you to give your views on colleagues but for me, as a woman, it's the rampant sexism from Mike that offends me. When recounting a story where a woman has got the better of him we get comments like "alright darling have a day off", I've heard loads of comments like that.

I'm 57 and have had to put up with this as long as I can remember. Comments like "cheer up darling, it might never happen" just because you're merely walking down the street and not dancing and singing songs from South Pacific. And if you challenge it you get accused of being a man hating lesbian. In fact I had a comment like that when I was coming home from hospital after my mother died of cancer in front of me. I won't repeat the language I came out with.

I thought the 1970s so called comedian act had no place in the 21st century, let alone on a shopping channel.

Feel free to pass these comments on to him.

Hope you enjoy your holiday.
