The young ones do this - at one time, my nieces and nephews would explain that anything called "bad" was actually good. Don't know if this is still the case, as times change and us ancients over the age of 50 (such as myself) can't keep up with all the trends! But your cousin needs to know that the original meaning of 'sick' will do nicely when describing what he or she has seen before them on screen
