of course but it is valid and not a lie
IMO, especially in regards to watch shows on IW.
A lie? Technically maybe not, but certainly not valid when retailers know that the RRP on the brand's web site has been set ridiculously high so retailers can offer huge discounts as part of their sales/marketing strategy (Resultco watch brands openly admit this is their strategy). The
fair and
valid comparison is to have price comparisons with other retailers that IW are in direct competition with, not some fantasy RRP on the Brand's web site.
Decent brands have RRPs that won't be far off what the final retail price is, maybe a discount of 10-20% through retailors, and on very odd occassion you may pick up a bigger discounts, end of line/stock clearance/loss leader in a sale etc.
Shyster brands have RRPs that allow for discounts 50-80% on a regular daily basis as part of a conning the public strategy.
Shyster brands and IW go hand in hand, play from the same script, made in hell for each other. Both hope the strategy will pay dividends in sales, the brands hope they attract the ultra gullible to their web site, and through IW attract your average gullible/village idiot from the general public, IW well they just hope they attract and con any poor unfortunate out there who is tunning into the selly telly world.
