His sweeping looked typical of a ‘face plant’ type injury or a forceful blow straight to the front of his face/head. The plaster also suggested an injury more than having ‘work’ done.

And as I type, he would seem to have confirmed my suspicions

Walking into a door mighte explain the mark on the top of his forehead, but doesn't explain the bridge of his nose, eyes or eyebrows.

Maybe his eyes had closed up following the dodgy treatment and that meant he couldn't see the door.....

The plaster on the forehead will be the result of the patio door impact. I have done similar, and only had an injury were the door caught me, never looked like I had done 10 rounds with Mike Tyson.

Bit harsh - no need to feel sorry for me. I stand by the craniofacial injury pattern that such an accident can result in. Do I believe a patio door was solely responsible? No, not particularly.
