No wonder a lot of former disgruntled customers are confused when Peter, Sally et al paraded on to our screens during the relaunch crowing about how lovely it was to be "back" (which implies it's a continuation), and Mason boasting how "we're not some billy no brand, we're one of the UK's biggest retailers"…
Most people don't keep track of forums (their loss haha) and while the old IW going into administration did make the news it wasn't exactly front-page material! Most folks with issues are casual, fly-by customers, not avid followers, and probably didn't notice IW went under.
And once they do learn it came and went, they just look at their screens and see presenters saying stuff like "we [meaning IW} has been around for 20 plus years because we bring you such amazing value…"
So yeah: TJC-IW if you don't want people hassling you about returns and refunds, maybe be a bit clearer that it's a "fresh start" for the channel in your on-screen presentation rather than acting like nothing has happened at all…
