Whatever they earn, I am sure it will be more than me! That's life. I mad a choice to be a nurse and I can't honestly say that I chose the profession for the high wages

It is horses for courses. I couldn't do what they do, even for a six figure sum, the thought of messing up / freezing in front of the camera chills me to the bone. Then again, I am sure that cleaning pussy wounds would be appealing to them either - even for their current salaries lol.

Ballerina what a lovely post, I have to echo Boris Bear’s sentiments, IMO job satisfaction is just as important, if not more important than the salary.:flower:

seriously, they will earn good dosh but I am sure it's not 6 figures, I guess JR earns a lot vis a vis Craig, cos she really could've worked in more main stream TV - which TBH I would've thought would be easier cos QVC is live; but it must be relative to their hours. As I said earlier the fact they often have a second job says a lot.

I wouldn't fancy doing 3 live hours in a row - and I think a lot of us would struggle keeping up the pace as those QVC auditions showed.

Honestly I don't understand this salary envy that is being stoked up all over. I must be odd but I really don't care if someone earns more than me. And I don't think it is my position to judge how much is "fair" and how much they need to live on. If that is the market rate for that job, and they are earning their salary then who am I to judge.

As for QVC I seriously doubt it's six figures, if it was we would see more of the main network presenters jumping ship to QVC. I think it is under 100K, well under 100K. The only person that has jumped ship is that Simon Biaggi and he was only on one daytime diy tv programme on bbc 1 some years back.

It's always been my understanding that they have main presenters and second string ones and I would be amazed if any of the main faces earn less than £100k per year.

QVC may be where old TV presenters get put out to pasture but it's still telly.

In any sales job there are usually bonuses for meeting sales targets and often commission payments on top of a basic salary. I don't imagine that QVC would be any different.

I wonder if they get any choice about what hours of the week they work or what TSVs they launch etc? Some TSVs go crazy in the first two hours and would be very lucrative to someone on commission. Likeise some hours are busier than others. 11am on a Sunday we're always being told is a very busy hour.

I have given this way too much thought, haven't I?

I remember years ago Steve Whatley mentioning the presenters had clothing allowances, and saying he had been out with one of the senior staff buying new suits for his shows.

Do you really think JR could have done mainstream TV? I would have thought that if she could have done that then she would have. Unless of course she prefers to be a big fish in a small pond (though we all know she's really a small).

I'm surprised they get a clothing allowance.

I reckon JR is on a fair whack - I always get the feeling that qvc rate her and its important for them that she stay.If they feel like that,good luck to her if she can negotiate a huge wage.Her house from what she posts on her blog is certainly substanial - and she commented that her normal £500 gas bill had gone up to a £1000 last winter - she must earn a few bit!

I wouldn't want to mislead you Rainbowdottie, there's nothing lucky about me, my house is very average.

But a 50% increase in your gas bill is huge regardless of whether you live in a flat, house or mansion, and wouldn't miss the money.

More importantly, there's more to life than having a huge house, making your house a home, is what its all about in my book.:flower:

I personally could not do their job cos my look of horror\glee\amazement at some of the products would get me sacked. I am just intrigued by thoughts of what they might earn and lets face it, we all have some kind of general idea of what nurses, teachers, police, gp's etc salaries are so I don't think it's too rude to speculate what the QVC presenters get.

Well hubby showed me yesterday on our energy supplier's website how we now use 16.6% less energy than we did a year ago and so even though prices rose quite a lot we haven't had to pay any more money.

I love my maths geek hubby!
