Boffy you didn't cause me distress you made me ****** angry by posting slanderous lies about me, and that is why you were banned. For those members (and guests) who didn't see this person's slanderous/libellous post on 22/12, she stated that I posted on another ST forum (??) and accused me of being a racist who didn't like black people, and then went on to call me an evil *******. I will make this absolutely clear once again - I am NOT racist and I do not post on any other forum so I don't know what prompted this idiot's outburst on this site. I have been a member of ST.com for many years, happily without any prior misfortune of 'meeting' a nasty piece of work like her. After her comments were posted complaints were made by me and others to the owner of this site, the thread was pulled and she was rightly banned. The only way she could be reinstated was to publicly apologise and that is why you see her feeble response and my explanation of the facts. Thank you for reading this. Sx

If that's the case then Boffy's comments should have been posted there and not here, to post them on this site seems like a deliberate example of s**t stirring that backfired imho.
PPC sorry you have had to endure this. I know how you feel. A few weeks back I was attacked by a forum member who accused me without provocation of being someone else who used to post on this forum. It was quite unpleasant & upset me considerably hence why I have been quiet of late. Fortunately the moderator dealt with it for which I was very grateful.
Sadly though I have not received the luxury of an apology from the vile cowardly person who did it to me or an admittance that he / she had absolutely no grounds whatsoever to make that attack on me.

That's outrageous Lillian and imho opinion that person should also have been banned. Unfortunately there are many cyber bullies who can hide behind convenient pseudonyms to spread their poison but please don't be intimidated, stick 2 cyber fingers up to them and do keep on posting. Sx

I've been on the receiving end of some nasty stuff in the past, so I know what it's like. It seems there are some people out there who take great delight in causing aggro between innocent parties and by being outrageous in their own posts at times while accusing others of being nasty when they are not. There also seems to have been an increasing number of people who are only interesting in gossip, unfounded speculation and nasty insults over the last few months. These are two reasons why I rarely post anymore and spend much less time here. There are many great aspects to this forum - sharing information and chatting etc, but sometimes it crosses the line. I choose to be positive and have no interest in being negative all the time. I support people's rights to express an opinion, but when that turns into insults and nastiness I withdraw that support.

I was not aware of this matter but am at a loss to understand why simply agreeing to post a public apology, somewhat lacking in content, warrants re-instatement?

You can't actually post in the forum without being a member PP and she wanted to come back....
It upset me a lot at the time but as I say the mod was very sweet & chewed the individual out. It was something to do with AY at the time. I had made a comment & this person accused me of being another poster who I had never even heard of. It was just bizarre & TBH totally pathetic.
I actually sent a PM to this person asking for an apology but was ignored. Totally ignorant, sad, spiteful & a nasty piece of trash IMO who yes I agree should have been banned for attacking innocent people.

I also have been on the end of unwarranted internet attacks so I also know exactly how you feel PPC. I didn't get the chance to give my attackers the "what for" unfortunately, as the forum I used to post on seemed to have its own internal mafia open to bribes!! So the truth never outed, but I'm glad for you that you've been given the chance to have your say and the offender brought to justice. THere is some comfort in that :clapping:

Although this is a very much warranted apology, I feel alot more effort could have been put into it and alot more thought too.

however, for whatever reason, this person has choosen to come back and has either asked to say a public apology or has been told they cannot return without a public apology to you.
They should apologise to you too and alot more thought and affort could have been put into it.
Maybe now, with an apology in public, a line can be drawn under it all and you can move forward and forget (or try too) this whole sorry episode.
More power too you hun for not insisting to Graham and the mods that this person be banned for life, after all it was your character they tried to bend out of shape and if it were me I don't know if I would have been so kind (for want of a better word). xxxxx

Thanks for your comments Yaz and to everyone else who has contributed to this thread. Yes I did insist on a public apology to be posted in the QVC forum because that is where the very public slur against me and my character was posted for members and God knows how many guests to read. I am pleased that it's opened up a useful debate on forum bullying and slagging people off etc but I have told G that no further action need be taken, and in fact I'm happy for him to close the thread now if he wants to do so. Job done. :emo:
