Most toothpaste has sodium lauryl sulphate, my eldest DD can't use it because it causes painful ulcers in her mouth.

Same here, can't stand SLS in my toothpaste
Also, I only using Jason Organics deodorant too, as the nivea/dove/ .... etc all contain aluminium derivates

funny you should say that I have just started noticing that when I use Colgate my lips and sides of my mouth become very sore and chapped. What is in the toothpaste that causes this and which ones are free of these nasties

Been following thos thread with interest. Can I ask Cupcake:"why look at toothpaste?" :33: (Mind you : do I want to know?)
I have learned so much from reading these threads, thanks to everyone.

Yep it's the SLS as MOMAD said. I was previously using Kingfisher which said their SLS was from coconuts but apparently it's bad wherever it comes from so have moved on to Green People now. Doesn't foam as much as 'regular' toothpaste but does a sterling job!
