Prices always present their candles beautifully, however, don't be sucked in. They smell of nothing once lit. I've wasted a lot of money on them in the past.

My £2.99 Home Bargains large jar candle, throws fragrance all over the house so I can’t see the point of spending a lot more on other more expensive brands. It’s a gingerbread fragrance so it smells as though I’ve been baking (which I haven’t. )

Anyone going to try these? The only set I half fancied was the Home Spa trio as the cinnamon in the Christmassy set and the lily in the autumn one put me off. Well, that and my last bad experience with a Price’s set from QVC years ago. I’m not going to get it but would like to know what people think if they do (I like letting other people spend their money on my behalf)

Only saw a little snippet of the show earlier and Ms Huntley was saying the fragrances were quite subtle so that made up my mind as a no buy

I haven't Andi as I've pretty much stopped burning candles these days and I tend to stick to melts now, but in the past, I always thought Prices candles were really good. In fact, I've said before, about 10 or 12 years ago, Q did a Prices TSV of 3 candles and each came in an organza bag with a brass coloured snuffer.
It was genuinely one of the best TSV's that I've ever bought. The three scents were Victorian Spice, Chocolate Orange (or possibly Chocolate Log) and Figgy Pudding. The latter to this day is the nicest candle I've ever had. It was a limited edition and has never been seen since. About two years ago, someone on this site alerted me that there was one for sale on ebay and I managed to snag it for a reasonable price and it was just as good as I remembered.

I haven't Andi as I've pretty much stopped burning candles these days and I tend to stick to melts now, but in the past, I always thought Prices candles were really good. In fact, I've said before, about 10 or 12 years ago, Q did a Prices TSV of 3 candles and each came in an organza bag with a brass coloured snuffer.
It was genuinely one of the best TSV's that I've ever bought. The three scents were Victorian Spice, Chocolate Orange (or possibly Chocolate Log) and Figgy Pudding. yes back then the candles were great quality & value now they are just poor & every year they get worse & worse reviews

The best candles I’ve ever bought were from The Milkhouse Creamery and they used to be on QVC. However, when they were “disappearing,” like many brands have, there were a lot in clearance, so guess who stocked up? I still have quite a large stock of those, plus other makes. I only burn fragranced candles in the winter so they last for ages.

I gave up on Yankee years ago. Before they apparently changed the formula they were quite good but after that change they were simply brilliant if you really wanted a candle with no fragrance and a load of sooting.

I have somehow completely got out of the habit of burning candles as well. I used to buy Prices’s small tumbler sets from QVC and quite liked them but then I had a set which is the first one they did in coloured waxes, I think - a few on here loved them but I absolutely hated them (the only candles I’ve ever returned and the only ones I remember smelling distinctly of paraffin) - never bought Price’s again.

I remember you (and Akimbo?) talking about Figgy Pudding - made me want to try it myself as I do like a fig fragrance generally. I stopped short of bidding against you on eBay that time but thought about it (not really! ). I do have some Price’s White Fig & Silver Birch tealights somewhere. Must be about 8 years old so probably completely scentless now, if they ever smelt much?

Probably my favourite room scent is Green Fig from M&S. It’s quite grassy so may not be to your taste but I ****** love it. My current bottle is from 2019 I think and they now have Green Tea & Fig (room spray, aroma oil or candle) which is very similar if not identical. Worth a sniff if you are in a shop?

I made my first purchase from Notino earlier this year and they are rather good. Some of their prices seem to fluctuate a bit but they had an offer on the perfume I was after, which is quite hard to find, and it was actually a really good price. I bought something else during a sale shortly after and will definitely be buying from them again at some stage.

Oddly the Harry Slatkin candles burn down really fast then the last 1cm of wax lasts anather week or more. So they do have a good burn time. Always love my yankee large jars and very glad I have loads put by. TKMAXX are usually ok for a large jar one of my favourites is Apricot Rose. I just find burning a nice scented candle one of lifes simple pleasures.

the yankee home inspirations ones that are made for supermarkets & diy stores are acutally a very low quality in all aspects so less wax, less burn time, less fragrance oils & less wick quality but if these prices candles are like the quality of last years tsv (or the large jars they had before that) then i wouldnt even be intrested)

Yes I agree with you the Home Inspiration ones are very poor quality. I've not bought them myself but was given them as a gift I did lie to my friend and said they were lovely. Luckily for me my lovely friend never repeats a gift so I didn't have to worry about getting them every year! Anyway I managed to resist the Prices TSV as one of the presentation description of the scent throw was " a whisper not a shout" so that made my mind up! ( And the advice here too) I did notice that they basically used the Yankee Candle script when describing the candles which made me laugh but I suppose what can you really say about some smelly wax?!
