I have an item in my basket which is now appearing with the message ON HOLD**, does this mean that they have oversold an item and can't fulfil the orders? Not very pleased as it is one of the few bargains I have seen of late, a pearl necklace for £10.

Alternatively, sit down with a bowl of rice crispies and phone the free number 08006444647 and press 3 (think it's 3) to speak to CS

No idea what 'On Hold' means wrt your basket Puss, but hope you get a speedy answer :flower:
 
If something's on hold it usually means there is a payment problem of some kind - happened to me when some IT portal broke down between my bank and Rocks .......... It was resolved very quickly and I felt so much better after yelling at my bank
 
Don't know if this is the same thing but I've actually just asked for an item to be put on hold. As my refunds haven't been credited yet :( I'm waiting for them to go into my bank account before paying for anything else (would rather have money in my account than with RocksTV/GemsTV) so the item has been placed on an order but is "on hold" for potential release next week. So I guess there may be several reasons. A phone call (and a bowl of Rice Krispies to ease the wait) might be a good idea as Fluffster has suggested!

that's a good idea,I sometimes want to buy something but can,t justify spending until my refund appears,only wonder if they do wait or just debit your card and send it anyway.

Nannie - I don't think this is a normal thing. The only reason they've done it for me is that I really do have a large amount outstanding in refunds and they're going to potentially lose a fair amount in sales if I wait until the refunds go into my bank so I guess it's a way of ensuring a sale in the near future? However, the sales guy who did it for me, had checked the status of my refunds so there was some checking.

Just on the subject of refunds, although GemsTV processed one lot of mine at the beginning of the week, it's still not showing in my bank account :sweat:
 
Thanks for all the advice and info, ladies. Funny thing is that when I checked my basket again in the early hours of this morning, the 'on hold' message had vanished, most odd. It can't have been anything to do with payment as the necklace was just in my basket, not being checked out, that's why I assumed that it meant they didn't have the stock to fulfil the order. Well, bit of a mystery, but I've checked it out now, so I'll just have to see whether it arrives next week.
 
I am not sure I would like to guess as to what Rocks mean by "on hold" as right now they don't seem to know the meanings of the words "picked" and "packed" or which order these happen in terms of an order being processed for despatch. :rolleyes:

Glad I'm not the only one who's noticed that, Sazza! Also, delivery is taking a while at the mo, not quite as long as refunds, but a while...
 
Incidentally, am I being very untechy or is the new site still a bit 'owzyerfather? In particular I'm referring to the fact that when you search for something the pages are somewhat random and the same item can reappear several times and others not at all, I don't know of any other site like this and it seems a tad user unfriendly. Also, has anyone noticed that only certain items can be requested for a TV auction whereas any item can go into the online version, which IMO is unfair since the online auctions are a soupcon ambitious in both the start and end price.

Yep! I had the opportunity to speak with John B the other day and he tried it while we were talking and he realised how frustrating it was. Originally the idea was that people got to see lots of different things randomly (which makes sense) but the downside is that the search facility then doesn't stay still. John was going to look into it to see if it could be more user friendly because it drove me absolutely bonkers when I was trying to find a specific gemstone in a pendant!!!!

I gathered that when my order wasn't despatched yesterday as expected, they managed to pick/pack it though so that means it is not open to add anything too. :taphead: I am beginning to think I would have been better leaving my credit in my basket and not bothering.

No you are not untechy, the search is far from ideal as each time you change page the order of items changes so it is impossible to see all items and you can end up seeing the same items several times over.
 
Well, I'm glad it's not just me! I can't understand why there isn't just a standard 'search' facility as on every other website I use, makes life much easier and less frustrating.

Following on from this, I am even less convinced about the order in which things happen as I have just had an e-mail saying my order has been despatched, it is Saturday night well Sunday morning really as it came through after midnight, they don't despatch at weekends do they? Is this new? Anyone else ever had a despatch e-mail over the weekend?

The DPD tracking link doesn't work and when I logged into my CR account it says "ready to pack" yet CS told me earlier today that it was packed and ready to be despatched on Monday, yet in first e-mail they told me it was to be picked on Monday too but by the next e-mail they said it was packed.

Confused??? Yes I am and think they are too!!!:confused:

Blimey, Sazza, I always think that I'm the only one to experience stuff like this, but I see you are having the same sort of issues. It's not encouraging, is it?
