Hello Everyone:
For those that don’t know me, I’m one of the gem people behind Rocks & Co. and the author of ‘The Clever Gem Buyer’
http://www.rocksandco.com/book2/books.asp.
Our 'sneak peak’ banner says “Coming Soon In Stunning Jewellery” and these gemstones will definitely be sold in jewellery premiering on Rocks & Co. throughout April. These will be live auctions, so tune into Sky channel 642 (or the live stream from
www.rocksandco.com) for promos and presenter mentions as to when they’ll be on.
I am really, really (OK, one more, really!) excited about all of these gemstones. Pirineu Tourmaline and Santa Rosa Tourmaline are named for there Brazilian mines and are blue-green and green Tourmalines respectively. Some of the best, if not the best Tourmaline I’ve ever seen, I can’t wait to hear your reactions. Danburite is a relatively unknown gem discovered in 1839 and named after Danbury, Connecticut where it first was unearthed. Often marketed as a Diamond alternative, colourless Japanese Danburite has garnered the common name ‘Japanese Diamond’. Pink Danburite is absolutely stunning and I am certain those lucky enough to add one to their collections will appreciate this gem in its own right - hats off to our crew in Madagascar for sourcing this rarity. The famous Capillitas Mine in North Eastern Argentina has been mined since the times of the Incas, is the largest mine in Argentina and is Argentina's most species-rich locality. Capillitas Aragonite, Bi Colour Fluorite, Capillitas Fluorite and our Rhodochrosite all hails from this legendary source. Spice coloured Zircon has been gaining popularity in the last few years, so I’m delighted we’re getting into this trend with Cinnamon Zircon. A gem with an eye-catching sparkle and fashionable shades, Cinnamon Zircon is aptly named and reminds people new to this gem of reddish mahogany coloured Diamonds. I’m also delighted with our new selection of Amazon Quartz that displays an unusual bicolour blend of Citrine yellows and Rose Quartz pinks.
There are two other gems coming up in April that didn’t make the banner. The one I can tell you about is Cat’s Eye Aquamarine, a chatoyant twist on the classic gem of the sea. The one I can’t tell you about will be a big hit. Incredibly beautiful and so rare its mines are now depleted; each piece will come with a little booklet telling you this gem’s story. I wish I could tell you more, honestly I do, but you’ll have to wait until Tony Diniz premieres it later this month. We also have other gems launching in the middle of May that will satisfy some requests posted right here on Shopping Telly.
I hope this helps. If you want my advice, opinion or more information on gemstones, please let me know.
Best Wishes,
Gav
