If its a gel nail polish then removal is quite easy you soak a cotton pad in nail varnish remover then wrap it overthe nail and cover it with tin foil let it soak for about 10 - 15 minutes and it just wipes off. I think the difference between the LED lamp and the UV ones is you wouldn't need to change the bulbs and there isn't as much heat generated

It sound like a good idea. I love my nail polish and I do like to change it a lot but there are times when a long-wearing, easily-removable colour would be a good thing.

I already have a UV nail lamp, is it possible just to buy and apply the different colour gel polishes and cure them with my lamp without buying a whole kit. Mostly I enjoy changing my nail colour a couple of times a week but just occasionally, when we're away with it might be good to have a colour that lasts and won't chip - we were on a tight schedule of visiting folks over Christmas and it was hard to find an hour or two to redo my nails when they chipped.

You have to use acetone to remove things like Shellac and OPI. I presume this would be the same. Just a couple of goes with Shellac completey knackered my natural nails for a good few months. Several people who are into this kind of nail "polish" were insistent it wasn't the gel that had knackered my nails but the acetone. It may well have been the acetone but as you can't get the bliddy stuff off without it I don't see what difference it makes.

My natural nails are now absolutely fine and back to the talonistic best.

She didn't say what the original product was but she is selling this one and the bottles look somewhat similar even the rubber top which I loved, what a genius idea!

I've checked the ingredients, some of them are the same but the list differs.
BUT!!! on the box it says ORLY PRODUCTS, orlybeauty.com, made in USA.
And it also says rubberised base coat, Lori G by Orly, so I think it's a "yes", not sure why lists of ingredients differ.

I've just looked at Orly range and wow! I'm sold on those rubber grip bottle tops.

Just reporting on my trialling L Granier base coat - it started chipping after the second day of wear with Nails inc. It was my first go and I'll try again for the sake of 30 day MBG but will probably go for the Red Carpet Manicure Gel Nail Set in the end. The p&p is terribly prohibitive and the set is not very large, I hope they are not raising p&p charges.

OPI

Hi All,

Does anyone know what is coming up in the new OPI show, im looking for the minnie mouse for my daughter and was hoping it would be on the qvc show.

Thanks

Debbie Flint's been using this nail system and I'm sorry but I think her nails look a mess. They're all lumpy bumpy and not smooth like nails should be. I wonder how easy it is to get the technique right. Unless her nails are always like that and I've never noticed.

Debbie's favourite is nails inc Jermaine Street and her nails looked good all the time.
A bit off the topic, there are some great reviews on Maybelline Forever Strong nail polish, the pice is great and it's on offer at the moment 3 for 2. I bought 3 bottles yesterday and so far so good but it's only been 24 hours.

And back on the topic of Red Carpet, apparently, to remove the polish you need to soak it with a special nail polish remover with nails covered in foil for 20 minutes, that's a bit OTT and the price of the replenishing kit is something £40.

I'm sending back my Lori Greinier Manicure Keeper - not what it says on the tin.

Can I just buy the colours and cure them under the UV nail lamp I already have, does anyone know?
