I've always thought Mel C had a good voice - there's no denying she can sing in tune and her voice is powerful but I've NEVER liked the sound of it. Just cannot listen to it for long and I don't know why.

Its whiny and nasal that's why i don't like it.

am i the only person in the world who thinks kylie is nasal? i know she's pretty and nice and all the rest of it but could never understand why she became such a mega star. sounds like she has a clothes peg on her nose to me.

:song: i should be so luggy - luggy, luggy, luggy :song:

She is very nasal as is Jason Donovan. He was nasal even before he stuffed half of Columbia up his. nose

lol! actually, i don't find it as bad with him ;)

I've never liked her voice and I've always got the impression she thinks she's far more talented than she is.
I prefer Emma's voice, far more pleasant for my ears.

I agree I could listen to Emma, but Melanie C sound like a bleeding Banshee..

I think Mel C's singing voice is still strongly accented. Some singers with strong regional accents lose it when they sing, she doesnt and that's why I'm not keen on her voice.

Dreadful- didn't watch the show as even the promos had me reaching for the volume control. Mind you I find lots of female vocalists far too screechy, with notable exceptions such as Aretha Franklin.
Can't stand musicals either, so I am probably not the target audience!

I love musicals but Mel C's voice is enough to give me a migraine. She can sing, yes, but her tone is too much for me.

I just kept looking at her forehead that never moved once. What happened to the young girl with her trackie bottoms who did not give a toss and wanted to sing rock music.

I really like Mel C as I think she comes across as the most ordinary of the Spicey's. However, I felt a bit worried for her on Saturday, I thought she looked too thin where presumably the Jesus tour has taken a toll. But being tall and too thin, or toned, made her face look long and thin, almost manly, which seems to a daft thing to say as she had really long feminine hair and killer heels too lol. But sideways on facially she looked a bit manly to me.

I like her voice and she was clearly singing live and good on her. I just don't like it when she gets to the big notes she turns on the whispy'ness. If you are going to sing the big ballsy ballads you have to have the big voice to match.

Just read this article on the Daily Mail website about Mel C going on QVC to promote her album. Article seems a bit harsh on her just because she is promoting her new single/album, mind you, Daily Mail are not known for their accuracy when it comes to journalism :dull:

i wouldn't say it was harsh - it says she has a 'spectacular' voice for a start. had to smile at the insinuation that promoting on qvc was the lowest of the low though

"Sporty Spice Mel Chisholm was reduced to selling her latest musical offering on home shopping channel QVC, after radio bosses refused to play her latest single"

and yes, i think she could be mistaken for a man. not with the softer hair as in the spice girls pic but the pair of curtains look does nothing for her.

I think she would sell far more copies on Q in her timeslot then she would normally do in the same amount of time on the high street, lots of singers/groups are getting on there these day, its good to see, plus they chat to them too. Or at least they do if Kathy isn't on with them as she gets so starstruck and excited she barely pauses for breath lol

its good as you get to see whats available. i think i'll get il divo for xmas day. loving my noah stewart played it for my daughters wedding.....lovely!
