Wow, llloyd! You’ve been busy looking up RRPs! You are so good! 😘

Before you kindly did this, I was weighing up the likely value to me: I look at the items I would buy and definitely use anyway and what would be a good (ie very cheap as I’m tight) price to pay and with under ten of them, I reach £45 easily. Your calculations help confirm it. So suffice it to say, I’m getting this advent calendar!
I tried to get this but it said out of stock last week, but now it is back there at full price but it says you can't order it. Has the clothes offer been and gone or has it not been on yet. It's always been later than this previously. I like the no oil oil and the shay and blue so that's £45 before anything else.

Stand by, llloyd! As soon as we get the sizes, you’ve got some work to do!

I love that it’s a tin with little boxes inside this time. I have been telling myself I have to give these advent calendars a miss this year but I’m sorely tempted again.

Has anyone tried the Shay & Blue Tallulah’s Camelia fragrance?
Hubby got it me last year. I took it away with me and he said it smelt lovely when I sprayed it on. It lasted as well on me as quite a lot of scents don't. It's a light fragrance long lasting and doesn't seem to change its smell.

Really hope you love it. Got mine on Saturday and it’s just lovely - only one thing in it I don’t want, which is the Shay and Blue perfume. And the little vanity bag it comes in is very handy as well!

I had a quick peek through it, quite a lot of things I will use. Strangely the Shay and Blue was one of the main reasons I went for it.

This year’s M&S beauty advent calendar is going to be £50. Still good value if you like and will use most of the items, I think, but creeping up in price. It’s also cheaper than many others around though you have to spend £30+ on Clothing/Home/Beauty to qualify. At first look, I’m thinking same old brands and actual products in many cases: Percy & Reed, Living Proof, Philip Kingsley, Nails Inc, Cowshed, Prai, ThisWorks, Pixi and Clinique. Floral Street instead of Shay & Blue this time.

I have bought at least one M&S calendar every year since about 2017 but I think I will have a break this year. I don’t usually have a problem spending £30+ to qualify but now the calendar itself is £50 and it’s not very new and exciting, I think I can resist.

Note for @llloyd if she fancies doing her numbers thing: the prices are mostly from the brands/Boots/Sephora/M&S and if it’s a smaller size not available generally, I’ve pro-rata’d based on the price of the next available size up. No idea how much the 10ml bottles of Nails Inc are so those are a bit of a guess.

I`ve never bought an advent calendar until this year and I`ve ordered the Holland and Barrett one. It`s £45 but I`ll use everything in it and buy quite a few items from HB anyway. I like their stuff and I`ve never been a big follower of luxury beauty brands. I think they can be full of hype and too expensive.

Thank you so much AndiK.
No, thank YOU! Trouble is, your calculations are again making me think twice about the value. Individually, the items work out just a quid or two and I’m thinking just get it! I must stay strong.

The new thing is the 12-day Advent Calendar.

You start opening on the 25th and finish on the 6th Jan. So, the real days of Christmas.

Clarins this year doing a 12-day version.
That’s so much better as a gift for someone. I’ve seen 12 day advent calendars before but I think they were for the days up to Christmas still and I’ve often thought what a shame you can’t give one to someone on Christmas Day.

Well my HB advent calendar arrived this morning and it`s HUGE and sits like a chest of drawers with 2 drawers full of smaller numbered boxes. I`m very happy with it and it was well packed so no damage to it during delivery. Of course I haven`t opened any doors yet but it weighs heavy and has 16 full size items plus reasonable sized smaller items in it. I contemplated buying it last year but took so long to decide about it that it sold out before I made up my mind. This year I took the plunge in good time. I know HB isn`t a beauty brand everybody would go for but it suits me. The whole thing is cruelty free and vegan but even though I am not vegan nor vegetarian the cruelty free aspect is very important to me.

Did you order one in the end?!

Or anyone else?

The only non-traditional or non-chocolate advent calendar I’ve ever had were reduced Yankee Candle tealight ones my mum gave me for a couple of years.
I really loved them but wouldn’t if I thought she’d paid full price…

However this year I was buying my SIL a fancy long cardigan for her birthday - well over the £35 needed to spend - and I had a crazy moment and added the advent calendar to my basket! 😬

I don’t really know what possessed me..!

The vanity case in navy velour is lovely and the little numbered boxes inside are gorgeous but there are seberwl hair products I’ll never use…

And I got it thinking I could split it up and use some as gifts, but having realised how small several of the sizes are, I’m not actually sure I will be able to, or they’ll only be little extras - so £50 is a lot which I can’t really justify…
Think I’ll be returning.
Better get a move on, it’s December in less than 2 weeks!
