No contest. The cushion cut. The oval looks like an Aqua. Presumably, since they're Lorique you've paid a bob or two? If that's the case then you want a Paraiba to look like a Paraiba.

One thing though ........... do I see windows in both? If the price is right, the colour saturation in them both is doing a good job of cancelling them out BUT I know you always strive for perfection. Can you take some clearer photos hun?

Yet another question for you.....

Well then, if I said 'Give one to me', which is the one you'd want to hang on to? :thinking2:

Theoretically speaking of course.......mysmilie_1537
Another reason for choosing the cushion cut, I think it suits your slim fingers better, the oval ring looks rather wide with the two triangles of diamond accents.

No window what so ever thats always the first thing i look for now lol
Clearer pictures what are you trying to say
My camera is so old all my pics are naff but i'll try!

No pics are even worse in my lighting my camera is just rubbish i put new batteries in earlier to take the pics and the batteries have died already, but definitely no windows i already have a 4ct Paraiba in my bottom draw because of that never again lol
The prices i paid were ridiculously low IMHO though for the weight of platinum and diamonds alone.

Have you tried taking photos with your mobile phone..sometimes I get better pics with mine than with my camera!

I'd hang onto both and tell you to sling your hook unless we were playing Swapsies that is

mysmilie_1436 I'm just trying to help you decide which is easier for you to part with...is all.

It is hard to take close-up pics without macro mode and even with it, its still not easy with some colours of gemstones.

Forgot to mention... I saw Barry offering a superb Lorique Pink Sapphire / Diamond ring earlier and he said that had VS / F colour diamonds.

I much prefer the cushion cut gemcherub, but it's very difficult for us to judge just from photos. As you say yourself, they are so much better in real life, so I'm really only talking about the style of the ring.

I'd have to go for the cushion cut too - because the colour is just gorgeous - stands out a mile. You are so lucky to have such a difficult decision to make lol - wish it was me.

I'm sure you'll let us know which one you choose. :envy:

Another one for the cushion cut, I think the diamonds on the oval are detracting from the paraiba.
I had a paraiba re-sized at Regency/Stanleys no problem, they do lazer cut there.

Regency is Stanleys? OMG no in the early days of gems they took the culet off one of my stones whilst sizing said they would replace the stone that was over 4 years ago i'm still waiting for the call to go and collect it lol and another ring they sized they chipped one stone and another fell out! please tell me they have got better!

No. They're different! They both work in the Birmingham jewellery quarter though.

I was pretty sure they were the same company, Meeshoo. Scott Stanley is the son and works at Regency.

I'm sure you're right, perdita.

.... I've been very pleased with the resizing jobs Regency has done for me.
