Reading this thread reminded me of this http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_25176.htm alot cheaper.Obviously not in animal skin but a good price.

I looked at these yesterday and they are very good, don't have the weight on the ticket but not as heavy as the Lori Greiner case. Hmm......

I'm going to call back to Aldi first thing in the morning and take my luggage scales with me to weigh the case and will probably buy this one. At least it can be taken on board planes too, as long as it is not too heavy empty.

The spinning make up gizmo is really good, isn't it? I looked at them for ages, undecided whether to buy, then decided to go for it a few weeks ago. Brilliant, got all my make up sorted and it sits on the vanity unit in the bathroom no problem. Plus, whilst filling it, I sorted out loads of old stuff that needed discarding that previously I never found time to do.

It is absolutely fantastic, can't believe I waited this long to get it. Picture the scene in the morning in our one-bathroom household. Me up long before 6, quick shower, grab towel, wake husband, who can now go straight in after me. I have my creams, lotions and potions, mum roll-on, all my make up and brushes in one place. Even my spare skincare "stash" fits inside. I can get myself all done, make up on quickly, without running in and out of the bathroom looking for stuff, wondering which cupboard or make up bag what I want is in. Plus, now I can see what I have and use it all. I csn honestly say I am less likely to buy more make up or cream until it's nearly used up. Once you have a full one of these I cant see the need to buy more until there is room in this genius little gizmo. All for 21 quid.

I expect the "little fingers" will be pinching stuff in a year or 2 though!

I have a make up cupboard by Lori too but it is the actual cupboard version with mirrored doors either side. Hold a huge amount of stuff and bought it for just £9.99 at one of the outlets.

Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near the outlet stores. If I did I think I would pay a visit if not simply as a social anthropological experiment.

Yes, you would think that they would have them more scattered around the country. I can understand them having one fairly near to Liverpool hence the Warrington one but wouldn't you think that they would have one down south and maybe one near Newcastle?

Better still have one in Mid- Wales, one in the south east, one in the south west, one in say Lincolnshire, one up North, two in Scotland and one in Northern Ireland.

I like the case, but there are a number of concerns:

- the fact you cannot lock the zips. I have no idea why Lori chose solid, non-locking zips as I always lock up my case when stowing it on a train, or keeping it in a hotel luggage room

- the extendable handle does feel a bit flimsy

- it's certainly heavier than I imagined!

I do really like the organisation of the zippered sections though, and the way it hangs from the handle or is detachable. And I like the tiger print.

It's just frustrating when it is nearly great, but the 3 faults above and the fact you cannot take it as carry-onworry me a bit. The lack of being able to secure the contents in any way bothers me the most. OK, a little suitcase padlock isn't going to deter a desparate criminal who could steal the whole bag, but if they're sizing up 2 bags and 1 is locked and 1 is not, it's easy to see which is the more attractive to the casual thief.

I had a look at the cases in Aldi. problem is, none are expandable and they weren't as lightweight as some other lightweight cases.

I also nipped into TK Maxx to look at the spinner cases again. To be honest, after trying again today, the spinner wheels on their cases and the Lori Greiner case are pretty similar and I suppose that either could be damaged with inconsiderate handling. I do think that the more traditional suitcase style would survive better, if stacked ie, in a coach luggage compartment. However, the look of the weekender case is what makes it appealing, well, to me it is.

I'm still undecided whether to keep one or return both.

Return one and keep the other. It's hardly a hundred quid case, price of a kipling really and you like it and no diubt will use it. I like and am keeping mine.

I'm a big fan of these from Matalan: http://www.matalan.co.uk/fcp/catego...LTER!lightweight+suitcases&productsPerPage=40

They are the lightest cases I've ever used. Used them a few times now (including to Australia via Singapore and Hong Kong) and they are still great. Maybe they won't last for years and years but they're light, spacious, and easy to handle. It is a BIG pet hate of mine that they limit you on your luggage allowance now, so these were a great find. They are guaranteed for 10 years too (but not sure what the small print says).

You're assuming QVC have shed-loads of returns to get shot of to justify several outlets?!!

I completely agree! The reasons you mentioned is what I don't like the case as well. The handle does feel quite wobbly, more so than a cheaper case I bought from cheap luggage brand Skyflite in TKMaxx about 5 years ago. The fact that the zips are not lockable really annoys me and I also don't like that they zips don't 'come together' as I like to know that the zips are done up and fit together on the top of my case. It is heavier than I thought it would be as well! I really do like the organisation and the wheel function but worried about putting in the hold now.
