Lidl offers

It's from Thursday 6th and all confusing, I saw those perfumes until resently in my Lidl, they were not selling very well.
Do you think it’s because Lidl go for perfumes that have been around for years so people have been there, done that? They might be many people’s favourites (of old) and I’m not saying nobody buys them any more, but I think Aldi are wise to copy the more recent perfumes and particularly the “high end” (ie very expensive) rather than “High Street” ones. I am more interested in the Aldi ones myself because I am unlikely to buy a perfume for £200+, even if I know I really like it, but will happily risk something that’s very similar for a few quid. And it’s something new(er).

I tried the Chalou today sorry to say not for me, I also tried the lovely which I quite liked when I got home. So thanks Marina and you too Andik.

The Lovely I think is J'Adore, but they have a more concentrated version when they do perfume specials.

You may be right Andi, I thought it was because of the current financial climate people would skip on the non-essentials. Also, there's never hype about Lidl perfume offers and they go un-noticed but a huge deal about Aldi's skincare and perfumes.

Great that they have testers in Lidl, isn’t it? Much less of a risk. I seem to remember I quite liked the Lovely, too.

Would you say it’s a good copy of J’Adore, M?

That is very true as well. Might also be that there’s just less of it from Lidl where Aldi are way more prolific with their beauty dupes, always innovating. It’s quite hard to find any info on Lidl products, certainly from Lidl themselves online. Apart from a superior website, Aldi seem to have a very active PR machine and it always catches the eye of newspapers and magazines when Aldi announce a new product for a fiver which is very similar to something that costs 20 times that or more, so it gets written up. It makes a good headline.

Yes I think it's a good idea to have testers. I don't know much about the high end brands as I have until recently stayed with my usual. To be fair I wouldn't really want to spend that much on a perfume i leave that to my granddaughters..But I became interested when reading the posts on here. Bought a few from Aldi and went back for more of the ones I liked, the others to be honest will used as sprays for house or for anyone who likes them. This why testers are great. I'm also enjoying learning about these things here on the forum, the jewellery, skincare ( I'm addicted to) and now the perfumes so thank to everyone. The Lovely I will buy.

I don't own this one, but I tried it in the shop, and it's weaker than the one on special offer. I bought one on special offer, before they changed the bottles and I love it. If I see it again I will try to compare if it has chaged or not.

Thanks AndiK for starting this thread.

Have never smelt the original fragrances, but I did buy three of the G Bellini EDP for every day use last year and I do like them.
It’s good to get some feedback about the G.Bellini ones as we don’t often get it for the fragrances aimed at men. I sometimes prefer them myself!

Just to add, the ones on special offer, womens and mens, are richer than the everyday range.
