There's nothing I prefer more to wake me up in the morning than a lovely cup of tea. I like my coffee too but I'm predominately a tea drinker. Nothing fancy - Tetley's, PG tips, supermarket own brand, medium strength with milk and one sugar. I don't mind an Earl Grey every now and again - but Camomile tea, Green tea, Black tea, any kind of fruit or herbal tea just  🤮. I don't know how anyone gets any pleasure drinking what to me tastes like either hot dishwater or a cup of acrid bitterness🤮. One Christmas I was gifted a set of "posh" tea, it wasn't herbal, but the leaves were packed in little cloth bags and somehow the tea didn't brew properly and it was beyond weak, so I binned them. Funnily enough I quite like the Lipton's iced peach or lemon tea soft drinks, but when I want a cup of tea it's gotta be "proper"! This year one of my stocking fillers was a box of Swizzel's refreshers tea bags. When I unwrapped it and saw the Refresher's logo I thought "what a cow buying me chews with my dentures"! I was relieved to see they were tea bags. I didn't really fancy the idea, but I was quite interested to give them a try. This morning I opened the box and removed one of the sealed sachets to reveal one of those silly muslin bags containing what looks like pot pourri, to be fair it smelled exactly like a Swizzel's refresher. I made the tea and let it brew and although it wasn't as egregious as some I've tasted, I poured it into a glass and I'm gonna chill it to see if tastes any better chilled. I made myself a lovely cup of PG. If the iced tea option works, I shall brew 'em all up and pour them into a big bottle and put it in the fridge - If not I've got a choice bin, or knicker drawer! I'm not sure that my smalls need to smell like sweets but waste not want not lol!

....Think it's gonna have to be bin! I tried it cold and whilst it wasn't absolutely disgusting because I take my tea with sugar or a sweetener it had too much of a bitter twang. I honestly can't be bothered to make another one with sugar to see how that goes, I'm not invested enough. I've got plenty of decent teabags in the cupboard and a good choice of soft drinks to hand that I know I'll enjoy. I just hope that the person who gifted them doesn't ask me what I thought, I can only say "I've not tried them yet" for so long, however I guess that's what I will say and hope that they're not mentioned again! I'm not gonna lie and tell them I loved them as I might end up getting more of the b*ggers!

I tried Lapsang Souchong while having afternoon tea somewhere. Proper tea leaves, left it to brew 5 mins and still as weak as p*ss. Never again...

The only herbal tea I've tried is lemon flavoured green tea. I should get a box because green tea is very good for you and the lemon flavour makes it palatable
I think I'd rather take a supplement in tablet form to get my goodness - anything you eat or drink has got to taste nice other wise it ain't coming in! I guess there must be people who actually enjoy such weak and wishy washy brews, but if they're just putting up with them 'cause they think they're beneficial then more fool them!

I am not a tea drinker or really a coffee drinker I bought a jar or coffee had to through it as it was solid I had it so long. I buy sachet coffee and only have a few a week. No tea in my home.

Used to like Earl Grey, but had to have milk in it, as I cannot drink anything too hot. Many years ago I burnt my mouth drinking something too hot and had to go to the doctor. Then they started saying eating or drinking anything too hot can cause throat cancer. I was total to drink green tea, and it helped you lose weight, it just gave me really bad cramps in my stomach. I drink water, usually will have Pepsi with dinner or really like Fever Tree Raspberry lemonade.

I have coffee first thing in the morning and then tea for the rest of the day. I dislike cold drinks especially fizzy ones so I do drink a lot of tea as does Mr V.
I like what some people would call builders tea, strong, no sugar, just a drop of milk and well brewed. We buy Yorkshire tea bags for everyday use and brewed in the mug but now and again I`ll buy a strong loose tea for the pot.
When Mr V worked down the mine they obviously couldn`t make a cuppa so they all took down a bottle of cold black tea and a bottle of cold water as well as what they called their "snap" tin. Nowhere to wash their hands and nowhere away from the coal dust to leave their bottles or snap tin so everything they ate and drank had coal dust in it or on it. Mr V reckons his innards must be coated in it because he ingested so much of it over 25 years as a miner.
My Mum also loved tea but during the War when tea and sugar were rationed she said a decent cup of tea was a rarity. She had a very sweet tooth and she loved strong tea with 2 heaped spoons of sugar in it. Something she rarely got during the War.
When she died we found 2 cupboards literally jammed with bags of sugar , some were rock hard they`d been there for such a long time and Mum had always vowed she`d never want to drink sugarless weak tea ever again. She was obviously stocking up for the next war. I also found umpteen packets of PG tips and Typhoo loose tea because she never ever used teabags.

Tea 🤢can't stand the smell never mind drink it. I once scalded myself, I was probably 8 or 9, and my nan gave me a cup of tea which promptly came straight back up and I've never drunk it since.

OH's the same, he can't stand tea, but drinks coffee until the cows come home. I really have to fancy coffee although on work mornings I do have coffee as opposed to tea a.) to wake me up and b.) I associate a cup of tea with relaxation and I need to sit back and enjoy it. If I go out for coffee I actually always order tea, cause I find coffee shop coffee a bit strong and it can make me feel a bit nauseous. OH makes a really good cup of tea even though he doesn't drink it himself and I'm not the only one who's said that. His old work mates used to nominate him to make the tea 'cause he always made a nice one!

Can only drink tea without milk. Don’t like the taste of milk and I’m lactose intolerant so not surprising, I suppose!
I’m very particular about the brew, as too long a brew makes it disgustingly bitter.
Coffee is my more usual drink. If I don’t fancy it it’s a sure sign I’m coming down with something.
For coffee I love Kenco Millicano.
I drink both tea and coffee in both caffeinated and decaffeinated forms.
I do like freshly brewed coffee as well, but tend not to bother at home.

Was it from Bird & Blend? I know they do a swizzles tea cube.
I love their teas although I’m a coffee drinker. I have a cup of tea in the afternoon and listen to my audio and knit. That’s my little routine 😊
What you could try is brewing a teabag in diet lemonade. Leave it overnight and taste it in the morning. I’ve tried a couple that way and it makes a big difference.

I have a coffee in the morning and drink chilled water for the rest of the day. Very occasionally I’ll drink tea but it’s usually a ginger and lemon one. I don’t dislike “ordinary” tea but, if I do have it, I have it black because I can’t stand milk and only buy it if I have visitors.

Yes it was Bird and Blend but I think I’ll stick to me PG tips!

PG Tips is my favourite.

I know people are trying their best to think of something to buy you as a gift- they know you love your tea so they think it has to be something weird or fancy otherwise it’s not a gift. Ok a big box of PG tips would be a weird gift but there are plenty of giftable options eg a nice caddy full of English breakfast teas and other classics. I’d have rather received a box of PG tips as they wouldn’t go to waste!

This makes a lovely gift for tea drinkers. I have a similar one which my DIL bought for me a few years ago but I bought the one in the photo as a birthday gift for someone who drinks those flavoured fruit teas and mint teas. She loved it and also used the gift box for holding hair accessories.

It’s lovely but similarly it would be just as good for someone who drinks regular tea! I’d have been well happy with that especially if the tin was full of PG tips lol!

I watch loads of K dramas, and they seem to mention something called Bubble Tea and one called Milk Tea, the latter seems to be cold.

Now, in Sainsbury's I did spot Bubble Tea in the ones to use in coffee/tea machines. But, it never actually gave a description of what it is?

I have said this a number of times on here. When I was a little girl I stayed with my granny, her sister my Aunt Peggy lived across the street. My dad was on night shift and my mum at work so too young to be left on my own so off to granny's

My Aunt Peggy served tea in a dainty little china cup and I swear you could have creosoted a fence with it and a cream cracker with about an inch of butter. Hence, my thing about tea must be very weak, I had friends tell me I show the teabag to the hot water then pull it away very quickly. Milky hot water is how it has been described. As for using spread or butter is it scraped on and scraped off again.

I have been told I make a really good cup of tea and also coffee.

Lapsang Souchong tastes to me like hot water with a piece of smoked bacon steeped in it! Some people love it, though. I like Yorkshire Tea. I buy it from Amazon, served with a splash of full fat milk and no sugar - - definitely no lemon slice, and my cuppa has to be hot, or I can't drink it. And, I must drink it from a bone China cup and saucer. Never, never will I drink tea from a mug. It just doesn't taste right in a mug. I use boiling water, in spite of what Gail, the Ninja woman, says about the contraption she sells for heating water to different temperatures for certain hot drinks. Tepid tea is horrible. I have an early morning cup and then one or two cups in the afternoon. Drinking decent tea is an important part of my life.

If I take a hot drink to bed it's usually hot chocolate, but on occasions I will have a cup of weak tea as it reminds me fondly of nights when I stayed at my nan and grandad's as a kid and she'd make me one before bed and give me a couple of petit beurre biscuits to go with it. I don't mind a slightly weak tea when it's just a case of using a little more milk than usual, but when the tea itself is weak and wishy washy - no chance. As I said I cannot drink tea (or coffee) black, it's disgusting, similarly "builder's tea" or tea that's too sweet doesn't do it for me either, nor does tea without a small amount of sugar or a sweetener - We're all different!
