At the beginning of DIY on Sunday, Julian said this is one of my last sundays doing DIY here, not sure if he meant it the way it was gonna be one of his last, cause of the move, but that would be strange, and not sure if he meant if he was leaving

P.S.

A Couple of minutes latetr, he said he was emotional as it was his last day at Battersea, and wanted viewers to text in, about what there highlights of DIY on Sunday, have been, he then listed Harry Greene, and Orlando

Sorry if i worried anybody but his opening to the show just seemed rather strange.

I know!! Who else is gonna sell us pink plastic flamingoes with such aplomb!!!

Like Julian's sense of humour - you certainly need one at QVC!!

Love Love Love Julian. He is the only presenter who I will watch a tech or DIY show for (in the background). Don't tell my husband!
Remember Johnny Balls shoes on Blackburn Julian? Been my fave presenter since he talked about it on air once when I first started watching. My mum took me there on the train to buy my school shoes.

Julian is by far the most down to earth presenter on Le Q in my opinion. Not to mention he's rather easy on the eye. :mysmilie_479:

Shouldn't that be Tommy Balls? I remember being an unfortunate kid having to do the string-through-the-back wiggle when being kitted out in Blackburn. Walked funny ever since.... They REALLY should bring strung together footware to a QVC outlet. Imagine HRH with strung-together toe posts :)

I recall Julian selling some crystals. He actually said he thought it was 'hogwash' but accepted some people believe in it. My respect for him increased after that!

Mmmmm, or a novel selling tactic. Me, cynical? Never. I do like him though.

TOMMY BALLS!!!! YES!!!! Forgive me it was 30 years ago... Bet it's long gone now. I got on the train at Bromley Cross.

It wasn't all great in the olde days. Many of us Lancastrians are mentally scarred for life by having to do the Tommy Balls hobble in our childhood :)

There's worse things to be scarred by. I just wanted shiney shoes that tapped when I walked. But I never got them. I ended up South in the end so I look back fondly.

I posted this thread, and yes, he did say that he had been working for em 18 years, and that if he was to leave they would have to drag him out of the building.

On about products shown by Juilan, its a item which has been mentioned in here loads, it was when he tried to flog a pink flamango tacky garden thingy. Which would probably be more suited to Poundland than QVC

Winfields in Haslingden too. There were two small holes punched at the back of each shoe which were a permanent tell tale sign.

Oh my goodness, Tommy Balls!! Remember being taken there by my nanna and grandad every August to kit me out. And then the drive home back to Chorley with a split lip coz of the string and my clumsiness :D Memories!

My nan and Grandma both lived in Adlington Sparkles, so I know Chorley well. Seems Tommy Balls was a mecca for Lancastrian school shoes!

I remember passing BBurn ice rink on the drive there gazing longingly at it wishing we were going there instead :D

Weathergirl I've lived in Chorley all my life, love it. And don't tell my hubby to be but my "one-that-got-away" lives in Aggy lol :D

Blimey, another Tommy Balls shopper here. The Bolton one is long gone which is where I shopped. I remember buying some tan cowboy boots from there in the late 80s - at the time they were fashionable (ish). It was very dark inside, dark blue and red carpets I remember...ah....memories!!
