Although she's got her passive sales technique down to a fine art, I find her sarcasm at others people's expense and her intimidation a complete and utter turn off. She seems to want to sound posh by the sounds of it, but if she ever gives up her day job (the day that'll be declared a national public Bank Holiday) she'd be great at entering all those gurning competitions, with those faces she pulls, she'll win hands down.
I watched a bit of that show and she did seem very patronising to Lesley Ebbetts who mispronounced something. Julia went to great lengths to draw attention to it and belittle Lesley.
Just watching the Betty and Co fashion show, hope someone else is, because i am wondering why JR is talking in such an odd way, pronouncing words in a strange way, and, it seems to me trying to sound posh, hope it's not just me.
She is always like that. Trouble is people pretending to be what they aren't usually come unstuck at some point.
Maybe she's been on a girly night out with Jill Franks, Liz Earle and Alexis Murdoch from l'Occitane?

It was cringeworthy when JR asked Julie from Peony flaaars where her invitation to Julie's 50th birthday bash was. She mentioned that she hadn't had one in the post and Julie suddenly got all flustered about what she was trying to present. She was clearly embarrassed, then hesitated and said "of course you can come". I firmly believe that JR was not joking about it and will probably push her way in. She's the last person I'd want at a party! Talk about inviting yourself. Under the circumstances, I'm sure Julie felt obliged to ask her and, no doubt, JR will use it for bragging rights.
It's almost as bad with JF! She was practically licking Julie's boots the day before, and constantly going on about how she would looooooove to see the estate. We all know these presenters are nothing and not the sort of people Julie is likely to want to socialise with outside of business.
Hells bells, none of the above (apart from AK) would win any prizes for their intelligence so why they would feel they could correct someone else is beyond me.I HATE it when the presenters do this. I've seen Julia do it frequently, but also Jill Franks and Alison Keenan (and of course that epitome of perfection, Debbie F). Why can't they just move on and pronounce it correctly in normal dialogue afterwards? Far from making them look superior, in my book it just make them look tacky and pathetic. No presenter who is confident of their own ability needs to belittle other people in public viewing, quite the opposite.
