But the owners of the Beauty Bible say the same thing.
I have tested many times for the Beauty Bible and everything you receive is in its packaging and you know exactly what it is you're testing. Alexis from L'Occitane seemed to be trying to correct her last night by saying 'I didn't know that, I know that it is independant testing' but JF was adamant and kept saying 'somebody definitely told me that' :mysmilie_516:
That's what she does though - if she thinks she's right or she's said something funny she just says it over and over again. I can quite believe that she said it in front of Jo Fairley and bet she couldn't have got a word in edgeways to correct her even if she'd tried!
Finally turned her off last night when she came out with 'Until I found L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil I used to trail round from store to store asking them did they have a shower oil that would nourish my body but emulsify into a creamy lather, they used to look at me as though I was mad....blah..blah' Yes I'm sure you did Jill (not) - for goodness sake!!!

I don't think it was Jill Franks who was on with Jo Fairley, possibly Ann Dawson. Whoever it was, Jo Fairley should have set the record straight there and then, or at least communicated this to QVC so presenters would not keep saying it as it simply isn't true.

I think the QVC presenters go on automatic half the time. Pipa has her yeah yeah yeah etc. So JF no doubt gets an idea(she read ages ago about blind testing) and runs with it.

to be fair, I didn't know until I read it on that other thread. They have a rep from the BB on QVC and she should give the presenters the "official" spiel so they all say the same. Also the bods in the gallery should pick up on untruths being spouted, but clearly they don't know either.

To be fair to Jo, I think the guests are briefed before their first ever appearance, on what they can and cannot say. I would think that they are told NEVER to correct a presenter live on air. I thought Alexis was rather reluctant in her response to Jill's claim the products are blind tested but, as previously stated, she was unable to claim otherwise. In view of the recent complaint to the ASA, the Q really need to ensure they are beyond reproach, and that all claims are factually valid. If what Jill said was erroneous, the Q need to pull her up for it. But I get the impression with her that, if she wants to say or do something, she will.

As if ..... I bet she had never used one until she got it from `work` !! ...... and what is "Pretty scary" about L`Occitan being around for 40+ years because that was JF`s response when she heard that!! ....... Do you think the presenters ever play back the video`s and think " I wish I`d put my brain in gear before I said that"

If a presenter is saying something untrue in their sales pitch they should by told to set the record straight however sheepish they my feel. Jo Fairley is complicit in the misrepresentation of her product (Beauty Bible) if she doesn't draw QVC's attention to this.

Same thing with that Philip Kinglsey guest who said that he (Kingsley) is to hair what a dermatologist is to skin. Errm no! He isn't! Kingsley is one of the biggest frauds going! Just because he he speaks with a ring of authority to his voice and it so happened that he flogged a bottle of shampoo to Audrey Hepburn in 1962 doesn't make him a scientific expert! I checked the requirements to become a trichologist and it really is not that difficult! There was a clip of him on the other day saying: "You should wash your hair every day. After all, you wash your body, so why not your hair?" Sorry Mr walnut head, wherein lies the science of that statement? Ooooh there isn't any! Maybe if someone washes their hair every day they will use more of your overpriced, pseudo-scientific products, thereby lining your pockets more?! Huh? Huh? Isn't that more like the truth, my tortoise-headed friend that is a longstanding purveyor of hair products?!

PK never uses the title Dr, but he is a Fellow of the Institute of Trichologists (FIT) which is the longest established professional association for trichologists. It's a recognised as a branch of dermatology which specialises in the study of hair and scalp. Some are also doctors but it isn't a requirement. Trichologists are registered health care professionals (having an NVQ in hairdressing isn't sufficient). Membership of the Institute of Trichologists have an obligation to pursue CPD (continued professional development). I don't have a problem with him not being a fully qualified MD, any more than a dentist is but you'd trust a dentist to sell you a decent toothpaste and advise you on dental matters.
I understand why you look at PK, with his wirey orange hair and aren't sold on trying his products but I suspect he knows more than John Barrowman , Lulu, Judith Williams, Liz Earle or even my GP about follicles.
Back to Franks: she's so easily caught out telling porkies or exaggerating because to tell lies you need to be smart enough to remember what you made up previously, and she isn't. She's vehemently (look it up Jill) stated during a PK show that she only uses PK No Scent No Colour shampoo (when she really needs the Itchy Scalp one) but then she'll be on with Ojon a week later saying she can't live without their products. QVC probably think that only we weirdos on this forum monitor their presenters' statements so closely and with only a slight chance anyone will report then to the ASA it's a small risk, but they should remind them to stick to the facts not fabrication (no not polyester Jill).

I'm sure PK would have a cursory knowledge of trichological basics, having been in business since Queen Victoria, but this does NOT make him to hair what a dermatologist is to skin. It simply does NOT! Philip Kingsley is to hair what Gillian McKeith is to nutrition!

Yes, I've tested for the Beauty Bible a few times too and every single product came in its proper packaging, so I knew exactly what I was testing.
I tested as well and everything came in the original packaging but when the Beauty Bible first came out they did send out the samples in plain white pots I think only for the miracle creams category which made it so funny to read the comments about Creme de la Mer and a funny smell, and why there was a rush on NYR Frankincense Repair Cream (the original formula). They only did it once though.
Even so I'd do better than old witch Jill Franks!
