I must have a bad case of "the mondays" but I'm feeling ranty.

Good moaning everyone :)

Did anyone happen to catch the Jackie Kennedy jewellery show a day or two ago? JF isn't my favourite presenter at the best of times but she really, really ruined this show. I enjoy listening to the background behind the pieces and how they came about. Her nonchalant (or is that ignorant?) attitude to the whole presentation and her empty headed exclamations just made this hour unbearable. She couldn't have been less interested if she tried. Just kept on about "I've been there!" or "I looooooove this" etc. You all know the score there. This sort of show needs a touch of class and JF wouldn't know what that was if it kicked her in the arse! I watched this on tape and had the luxury of winding her out but it was a shame as I wasn't able to enjoy it as I normally would. She looks every minute of her 45 years but doesn't behave like it.

Rant over!

I saw this hour, and you're right Moth, I was struggling to hear Phil speak as he was constantly being drowned out. To give him his due, he does plough on regardless to the end of his sentence without getting sidetracked from inane comments! I agree, I've started to watch the Kennedy Collection hours just recently as once you get into the history it's quite interesting.

Empty headed is right. The girlie routine is very wearing but I fear she has nothing else to offer.

I haven't watched recently, but I did used to enjoy hearing the history behind the pieces and seeing the photos of them being worn. I didn't buy either, but it was an entertaining show, shame that they've chosen a presenter for the latest one that took the enjoyment out of it for the viewers.

I'm getting so that I can't stand to watch her.

And am I mistaken or does she seem to be on more than ever lately?

I did not see this particular hour and although I've yet to buy from the range - I do actually like it and the guest is really sweet and informative.

However JF is someone I can rarely watch. How I wish she had stayed and been limited to the "fitness expert" (miaow)

Did she manage to get in ref. to her having tea @ the Ritz for her birthday/ hubby & how she has been spoilt? saw her ( briefly) on a couple of shows & she was full of this. Can't stand this little spoilt girly routine, she's out of bounds as far as I'm concerned.

I really hope the powers that be at QVC read this forum because they really need to have a word with Jill Franks. I normally find the Jackie Kennedy hours wonderfully relaxing but NOT if Jill is presenting it. I'm sure most people watch these shows for the history and all the stories told by the guest, so I do NOT think it is appropriate for Jill to be wittering on about her dogs, her hubby, her birthday, various outings and holidays etc. I don't usually mind when presenters go slightly off subject and share aspects of their lives, but Jill seems to be under the illusion that we would find her personal stories more interesting than hearing about the fascinating life of Jackie Kennedy. She is really deluded.

I try not to let any of the QVC hosts bother me no matter what they are presenting. But I saw the earlier show with Claire and thought she did a better job. I know that the QVC presenters have to squeeze in the information regarding the price, the phone numbers, etc. but you ought to be skilled enough to do that without interrupting the flow of the conversation. I thought Claire did it rather well. He has a lot of information to get through so it's best just to let him do his presentation  and slip the housekeeping duties in at natural pauses.

Her "yeps" and "yeahs" and a few other comments were a bit lacking. I just didn't care for when she talked over him a lot about something that wasn't necessary and didn't add to it.

The world of people like the Kennedys is one probably most of us don't understand. I am amazed that one woman can have so much jewellery, over 300 crosses and who knows how many bracelets (which I find stunning), brooches and necklaces. I guess she got a lot of them as gifts for being the First Lady. Liked both watches on the 2 hour show.

I enjoy these shows but was annoyed I missed the two that have just been on till i read this thread. I saw JF on with Phil before and she was awful exactly as describedby OPs. I felt sorry for Phil who does have a lot of information and a genuine love for what he does. These shows are relaxing and enjoyable normally. It is surprising how much jewellery Jackie had but she lived in a different world to most of us and that might be what interests me and other people.
