Mark selling two 6” LED Christmas Decorations that you can usually picked up for under £10 each. TJC ….wait for it…..£120.99 but you do get free postage and packing. I do believe it part of their Prime Time deals? Really. Perhaps they’re encrusted with real gemstones hence the high price.

I saw Kim selling a two carat lab created diamond ring on Saturday, I think it was. The thing that surprised me was that they were showing a ‘valuation’ of high thousands. I thought that replacement value was meant to be like for like so wouldn’t you replace said ring with just another lab created gem? The insurance surely won’t replace with an earth mined type. How do they constantly get away with this? I was just wondering what fun would ensue if you had some unscrupulous trader somewhere flood the market with unmarked lab created diamonds? Each one would need to be examined under an electron microscope going forward.I can just imagine it lol.

This is another devious tactic that needs regulation. Where's their proof that, like for like, you could pay so much more for an item? I'd love to see it, but somehow I don't think we ever will. All you might see is a magazine advert. flipped quickly on and off screen, for something that looks similar but is probably made of a different precious metal with higher metal weight, and different gemstones. Also, the item will probably have a longer guarantee. But does the viewer get any time to be able to judge for themselves? If it's truly like for like, then why would you not let the viewer actually compare the ad. with what's on screen?

Always wary when Morganite is set in rose gold/rose gold plated as sometimes the stones are the palest pink imaginable and the rose gold gives them their colour.

This is what I can't understand either - the prices are off the wall now, and I cannot understand why anyone would buy most of the stuff that's on offer, especially for gold-plated silver. Years ago, you could do a quick look in a couple of High Street jewellers and see that Gems' prices were competitive, but these days they are bonkers. And starting price of virtually three grand? Is it 1st April?

The used to say that ‘it was just a place to start the auction, computer generated’. No one mentions this anymore. TBH I never take any notice of it, as it is just designed for people who purchase, thinking that they are getting a huge bargain. If I want it and the price is good, I’ll buy it.
