Ok a quick question to all those of you who brought it last time around.
I have wooden floors and am finding it hard to find a vacuum that does a good job on them I have tried several and they just throw the dirt out of the back instead of picking it up, so if you have hard floors and find this is good on them I would be VERY grateful if you could give me your opinion of it.

I didn't buy the hoover but I actually find the gtech sweeper the best thing for my wooden and hard floors. It's not as quick as hoovering, but as a result it doesn't blow the dirt all over the place! Only around £35 too.

I'm tempted to go for the airram if it's the same tsv price and free p&p like last time. I have a GTECH sweeper but it can't cope with the floaty rabbit fluzz on the tiled kitchen floor. The rotary action creates a small draught that wafts the bunny's fur away so I need vacuum suction.

The air ram picks up cat fur from carpets and successfully cleans tiles in conservatory - one cat likes to sit in the plant pots so there is often soil to be removed from the tiles and small pieces of dry cat food e.g IAms and has removed the trail of a slug from a rug in there- also lino in kitchen dealt with. I am careful what to try it on having read of a couple of people who have sent their's back after using it to pick up bigger objects.

I don't have wooden floors so not a brilliant answer from me there madmax but I do have a standard Gtech sweeper+standard vac and HAD the air ram last time. It went back due to the battery not lasting the full 40mins and dropping to 30 mins after about a month and I did charge it right from the start, also looked the battery up and read GTECH's comments elsewhere on the net in press releases about how the battery was supposed to work and it shouldn't make a difference at what point you charge it. So I concluded the battery was suspect. Now I have a little handheld (the monster from QVC at £30, why do I give them such loyalty :) )which is far better for what I need, the lack of attachments is a big factor IMO, I still needed the big vac out for stairs and skirting and the air tech just didn't quite reach as it professes and with a white long hair cat, this is a no no. If GTECH do eventually bring out an all sing and dancing Air ram then I would seriously consider it.

the only thing I need occasionally that the GTECH cannot do is an actual crevice tool. but it goes right up to the walls, brilliant on lino which is slippery. I even use it on the stairs as its small enough to do that. I have a dyson all floors and don't use it only as a crevice tool. its even better than the dyson on carpets and better even than my old miele that was broken after 3 years. this machine has no faults. it even cleans up cake crumbs on lino with ease

I have an Air Ram. I don't have wooden floors but do have stone tile floors in the bathroom, kitchen and downstairs cloakroom and the Air Ram is great on them. It also leaves tramlines on my carpets. One of the advantages is that it automatically adjusts to the different levels between carpet and tiles.

I have dogs who have wiry coats that shed, would it be ok for me? I have two Dysons languishing in the shed one mine and the other I inherited from my mother (bet it was only used about a dozen times) and neither will pick up!! I`ve just burned out a Samsung that my son bought me which lasted 4 years, it wasn`t half as expensive as the Dyson`s and performed 100% better! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

go for it the best vacume I have bough. you can lift it with one finger..that and the shark are superb to clean your home effortlessly and thoroughly. don't use the dyson daily
