Just watching old witch Lulu and Jill Franks (I don't know why - I dislike both of them). The products seem interesting. They are showing a moisturiser that turns into a fake tan sort of thing. It's a sort of David Dickinson cream. I can't see why anyone would like to look like they've been coated in gravy browning! The hair products looked ok. Lulu looks totally ridiculous, the trouty old bag! A piecemeal hybrid of Anthea Turner and Joan Rivers!

That's enough for me. Genuine humour or wit is one thing but immature, vicious, gratuitous nastiness is another. Your posts are consistently ageist, which insults a large number of members of this forum, including me. l just discovered the "Ignore List" feature - wish I'd found it before.

I don't think I've read anything so ridiculous on here for ages. I'm not insulting forum members or older people in general, merely writing about Lulu and how she looks and comes across. I'd actually rather you and anybody else like you didn't read my comments, for you truly can't see the wood for the trees.

So now Julius you are saying we are all thick and can't see how clever and witty you think you are? Really? No, we just see you for being petty, nasty and wanting everyone to think you are witty and clever.

You are also saying women who want to wear tinted moisturiser(the sort that has been around for ages and slowly adds colour) look like they wear gravy browning.

Actually you sound so like another member now gone, he had a thing against young pretty blond presenters. You seem hate the older ones having digs at the old trouts etc none stop these days. Perhaps you should just give QVC a rest as it annoys you so much.

My Dad had a great saying which I always think of when reading certain posts on forums and I wish some people would remember it before they write anything.

" It`s far better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and prove it ".

If a quiet, polite forum isn`t exciting enough for anybody and they feel the need to put cats amongst pigeons or to upset a few applecarts then they may end up talking to themselves.

I just read Julius's posts and take it with a pinch of salt,no one says anything on here to offend me,I hope this doesn't turn into another forum where everyone agrees with each other it's so boring.

Of course we all should have our own opinions, that is what makes a great forum.

But making fun of people with speak impediments as Julius loves to do with Alexis. I mean does he do that in the street, or his he just a flame thrower behind a keyboard??????

Women with fake tan in the street, telling them they look like they are wearing gravy?

Or saying he wouldn't P** on one presenter if he was on fire.

Trying to be witty and actually being witty, two very different things.

Well I know someone who got away with a hell of a lot worse than what Julius posts, and no one said anything to him.
Lynn

Julius may not come across as 'politically correct' in his articulation, but being the same age as Lulu I do agree with his observations of her. He also may love Kylie to death, but having seen recent photos of her, she is more cat eyed than in her Neighbours days, prompting me to think she has had 'work' done despite her protestations otherwise. Nevertheless, who amongst us want to get old, or be classed as old ? Old cow, old trout, old bitch are terms we have all heard and will never die, and have been used verbally for generations, but seeing it in print sparks a reaction that we are all Sunday school teachers. We are our own worst enemy, wanting the best of technology with social media communication, but only the bits we like. Sadly the genie is out of the bottle, and trolling, nastiness, bad manners etc etc are here forever.

I just think people should be able to read simply what is there. There is no hidden agenda. I am not saying anything about forum members or older people in general. If people cannot draw distinction between the general and the particular then they are not being intelligent. I said Lulu looked like a trouty old bag, and a combination of Joan Rivers and Anthea Turner. What on Earth does that have to do with Forum members or old people in general?!!! It's not me trying to wind people up, I am simply stating my observations, which I stand by. If people are silly enough to extrapolate and turn my comments into something else then that says more about them than it does about me. I do enjoy poking fun at Lulu, Jill Franks and Sarah Shurety. I don't like them! They are all trouty old bags! Hahahahaha! ooooooh my goodness I must have insulted everyone?! No I haven't! If you want something anodyne and bland go and read Peoples' Friend or The lady, or go and live in a convent! This is a forum for general discussion and for people to share views. If you don't want to read my posts, then don't! I don't agree with many things stated on here but I respect the right of people to hold those views.

Exactly Julius and it is not a good idea to bring the dislike button back as that causes more arguments.

I enjoy reading most of Julius posts, they make me laugh, I don't take them too seriously or look for a hidden agender

I couldn't stand watching either, which is a shame because I wanted to. I do use the off button regularly as I can't watch anything JF presents. I've nothing against Lulu but my distaste for Jill Franks knows no bounds. I cannot stand her megalomaniacal, egotistical, self-conceited, self-important, self-opinionated, self-satisfied, smug, stuck-up, swellheaded, vain and vainglorious on-air persona.

No one should be frightened to say anything here. It's what a forum is meant for. If you don't like it, fine, scroll on by and read the next thing. Otherwise all you'll get is bland and boring.

I don't take 'umbrage' at anything that's written on here, we're all guilty at adding our three penn'ath when it suits.

Its the likes of Roy Hodgson who have to watch every word they say, because someone somewhere (as clearly happened) wants to cause trouble and take issue.

We've actually become a not very nice nation,- our stiff upper lip has vanished and people everywhere blubber like kids (X factor and footballers alike), our wit and humour has been undermined by the thought police, and on a daily basis there are those claiming compensation for hurt feelings (?) a cut finger, or being shouted at at school ! I am SO glad I am in the Autumn of my years, because what this Country will be like in another 50 years doesn't bear thinking about.

I will admit to being a bit surprised at peoples' reactions to what I wrote. I wasn't trying to be provocative in any way. I truly really was stating my observation of Lulu.

I just think we have gone absolutely mad in this age of political correctness to the point where people are made to tread on metaphorical eggshells. It seems that so much emphasis is placed on not offending people that it can be seen as shocking when somebody just states the obvious. The real troublemakers are the ones who seek to place blame where there should be none. I can imagine them pebbledashing their tables as they cough up their organic cornflakes over their Daily Mail, desperately seeking to find hidden agendas in my little vignettes on s shopping telly forum!

I don't think I should need to write a disclaimer against each comment. Nor should I write for the Lowest Common Denominator.

The sort of people who object to my musings are the sorts of people who have toilet roll covers like this:

Julius I like and enjoy the majority of your posts , so carry on how you have been

I'm one of those people that people either like or hate! I'm glad to be that way. Read my opinion column in The Argus coming soon! :) And in Esquire! Sure to be a great read! :)

omg!
I used to own one of those toilet roll covers!! But I had to use it because my mother made it for me and she used to sneak a look each time to make sure it was still there.
