Ruth didn't cotton on to that pronunciation of her new pink bag although Jackie kept pushing it.
I think so. It's a joke, but the presenters are over using it.Is this a fake pretendy american accent thing?
Jackie can be incredibly juvenile.Ruth didn't cotton on to that pronunciation of her new pink bag although Jackie kept pushing it.
They also use the silly expressions like “a trouser,” “for the lip,” etc. I know it’s technically an American based company but I live in England and sometimes wear trouserS and put lipstick on my lipS.

Or his "crisp white shirt"Let's not forget glen campbell and his sneakers.
Once, in the early days of Ruth Langsford shows, Jackie said that a "joomper" would soon be presented. "What's a joomper? ," asked Ruth. Jackie always pronounces it "jumper" now.Jackie can be incredibly juvenile.
What I do find baffling is that Jackie's Irish, I believe, but there's no hint of any Irish accent when she talks.
And everything is "little": a little t shirt, a little shoe with a heel, etc. None of the clothes or shoes I wear are "little"!! Childrens' clothes are "little." Or maybe Julia's!!!
Appalled fascination, perhaps. I know exactly how you feel.I don’t mind Glen too much but I’ll tell you what gets on my thru’penny bits… Of a solid-colour item of clothing he’ll often say ‘…and this one has (e.g) navy/green/red/hot pink coming through’. What?!!! The bliddy thing is one single colour, nothing’s ‘coming through’ - it’s there for all to see!
I’ve come to the conclusion that QVC gives me some sort of inexplicable pleasure from watching presenters who drive me nuts! There must be a name for such a condition?! Jill Franks and Ophelia are currently jostling for No1 position on my annoyance chart
Love Patrick and I think it's Alex Hayden you might be referring to. She's a hoot, I love watching her.I love to hear Patrick Hoy and the American fashion ba (can't remember her name) say haat pink! Not so much the others, it just sounds silly!
