Nearly fell for the presenters hype about this steam cleaner after having a near break down when someone trekked dog mess into my lounge.:mysmilie_51: BUT I read the reviews and have to ask how and why Q can go on about the awards the steam cleaner has won given the poor reviews on their own website stating how flimsy and nreliable it is. I think I'll buy another brand from the JML website as its cheaper with better reviews. Has anyone had any experience of this product? I'd be interested in your views , given my scepticism about the on screen presentation.

it won the which award as the best handheld not necessarily the best mop. its odd but I have a shark great mop but not that great a handheld

I have a Shark steam mop too (the 2 in 1, you can pick one up for £100 now post Christmas). Would highly recommend.

With all steam mops I'd take the hard sell with a pinch of salt. Those demo's you see - that dirt or grime hasn't been building up for a number of days or weeks, so it will of course be removed easy peasy by steam. I was expecting miracles in my bathroom and inside the cooker, but dirt that has built up over time is never going to be removed easily with steam, you still need elbow grease.

I always have had some sort of steam cleaner but they are not magic. if you don't want to use chemicals then you don't have to but I always do with mine. when you buy one you will find the best uses that they have rather than the hype on tv.

I have the Shark, too, and am very pleased with it. But no steam cleaner could have coped with the hard-burnt-on grease in my cooker, and only elbow-grease got rid of it in the end. As has been said, take all demos with a bucket of salt. I've never trusted that tiny little man since he demonstrated some other mop thing that apparently on screen whisked through dirt and grime on his floor demo some years ago. When I returned it, the courier said he'd had dozens to collect in our area alone, so how many others were returned is anyone's guess. It was so heavy, like pushing a bulldozer over our laminate floor.

I have had the H20 for a year & find it brill. However I wouldn't expect it to get a mucky oven clean. But I keep thinking it's going to break because of the reviews :(

I have the H2O and as a handheld it's ok (I just wish there was a carry strap to take the weight) as it gets a bit heavy if I use it for any length of time. As a floor mop it's flimsy to say the least and although it does the job, it's heavy to push (unless you get the angle just right) and you feel like it will snap at anytime.
I think ideally I'd like 2, one that's good for floors and a second one that's good as a handheld because I don't think we'll find one that will do both things well. I like the idea of using less chemicals but some stains do need strong cleaners and elbow grease to get rid of them, but then steam cleaning afterwards is a breeze to keep things clean and done regularly there will be no build up to worry about - great if for instance you can start with a new cooker and keep it that way.

I had the shark and it was fab until it started leaking water all over the floor. QVC were brilliant and refunded me even though it had been over a year. I then went for a cheap Asda one (about £25) and it's still going strong. Does a great job of cleaning the floors even though it does feel a bit flimsy.
