I only read the 1st post when it appeared, and as I don't know who Alexis is, I didn't read any more.
Now I find there are 182 posts! What have I missed? Are they all about criticisms of Alexis? Is it worth me starting again to read them all?
I will try to summarise for you Strato.
Julia is wearing a short sparkly dress. From this we quickly move on to talk about "baps". Some baps are barms, others are muffins. Or teacakes. But not with currants in. Some muffins have oven bottoms. Baps can be butties. Or cobs which are sometimes crusty. In Lancashire, a mixture isn't a mixture of things, it's a Separate Thing. You can eat it with your teets in or out. In chip shops in Lancashire, they sell scallops which are not fish. This is very confusing.
Pickles is having a chip butty for her tea.
Jude's children speak two languages.
I give up.

There used to be one fish and chip shop MANY years ago which sold what I was told were called "Yorkshire fishcakes".
These were a sandwich of 2 slices from a very large potato with grated fish in between, then battered and fried.
Delicious, but I've never seen them anywhere else, or since that time.
PS I see what you mean now by going off the original topic lol.
