Wasn't this another 'especially designed for QVC' effort? Bound to be a bit  if so, they always are!

Kipling have really gone downhill IMHO & having fallen for the QVC hype myself on one occasion & bought the Jacqueline (or whatever it was called!), I doubt I'd buy a second one, not nowadays, not even a 'proper' Kipling bag as I haven't been overly impressed at the ones I've seen in stores either! Luckily DD uses said offending article to cart stuff around to & from uni etc., so it does have a 'use' but it's naff as hell & paper thin!

Shame they didn't stay as a sort of upmarket light luggage/workbag brand instead of going all 'designer' & marketing themselves as a 'fashion' brand!
I bought my first Kipling bag in the early 90's, no idea what style it was but it was bright red & fabulous quality; I bought it in a specialist handbag/luggage shop & used it as a baby/nappy bag (daughter now has a daughter of her own! lol), really loved it, far superior to the ones on offer these days I have to say!

Well, I hate them and (to my eyes) , they look cheap and tacky. I can't touch the cloth ones as they feel horrible,as if my fingertips have shrivelled.
I totally 'get' the practicality and durability of them, but they are not for me...

The only Kipling bag I love is the Defea. It's my favourite as its just so perfectly designed. I do love my Seoul backpack as well - it fits everything including my MacBook. The rest I can take or leave. BTW Javari have got a great Kipling sale at the moment. I bought a Defea half price for £35 incl free next day delivery.

My other bad habit are Cath Kidston bags. Love them. My OH and DD bought me a lovely Cath Kidston wallet and coin purse for my birthday which are much better quality than Kipling imho.

Me too Flamenco, Defea is a fantastic design. I returned this TSV, and should never have ordered. Curse the impulse purchase when insomnia kicks in.

Was the TSV an "exclusively made for QVC" Kipling bag? I've been burnt before in the past buying those (and then returning). I gave up after the 3rd "exclusive" was returned. There is a very obvious compromise in quality with the exclusives. The Jacqueline was just awful - unlined and thin material. An abomination. I was surprised Kipling would sell out in such a way, flushing their reputation for quality down the loo in the process.

Yes, it was exclusive to QVC Flamenco. To be honest, my issue was that I would not use it, so had wasted my money.

I also have a New Raisin, which I did not buy from QVC. I only use it occasionally, when I don't have to carry the kitchen sink with me. The quality of the New Raisin was head and shoulders above the TSV one, in terms of the fabric, cut, lining and the dye. My (white) TSV just looked like it was from a market stall in comparison.

The New Raisin is a good bag (just not big enough for an iPad and all the other junk I carry in my bag) and from Kipling's permanent line. Kipling shoot themselves in the feet with these inferior quality "exclusives". A first-time Kipling customer who buys an "exclusive" and is disappointed will think the rest of the range is also rubbish quality and will never buy anything from Kipling again (I've seen lots of comments here about that). So Kipling loses a customer (probably lots of customers this way), who tells other people that Kipling bags are rubbish. Very shortsighted. They may well make a quick buck with the TSVs but they also lose a lot of potential long term customers in the process.

The defea is my favourite & the only one I buy now.
Have they lengthened the handles on some of the colours in it? Looking on Javari, I noticed the handles on some ( tangerine & caffe latte for instance) seem longer than on other colours & the ones I have.

I returned the TSV bag on the day it was delivered ( ordered the spotty print one, that was an expensive mistake)I love my Kiplings because they are so practical but now have enough of the 'basic' range. Then I went to the Kipling website where there is a sale on & indulged there! I have never bought a leather K before but got the perforated leather duffle style which is lovely ( a tad heavy for taking abroad). It is still full price on the QVC site.

Flamenco, in case you didn't know, the Cath Kidston sale is on at the moment. I've just bought a lovely bag for MIL's birthday.

I've got three Kiplings, one is a smallish cross body bag which is great for days out when I don't want to carry too much and I don't need to worry about it getting wet (monkey removed), one is from the City range in a glazed fabric and the other is a beautiful brown leather one that's so nice it hasn't come out of the dust bag yet. I'm really pleased with all of them but I didn't pay full price for any of them, the city one was half price in the Kipling sale and the others were from Javari either in the sale and/or on special offer. I do think that a lot of them are extremely over-priced and I wouldn't have paid full price for mine. Some of the Kipling styles just do nothing for me so I suppose it's just personal taste.

What does amuse me is when t-callers phone in saying they own 150 Kiplings and they are such good quality they last forever, of course they last forever because if you rotate them you would only need to use each one two or three times a year!
