Like many on this forum I find the high P&P on QVC outrageous. So the free P&P on selected Philosophy items might please those who like these products. See the website - not sure if this has been mentioned on air. It mainly seems to be skincare products not body or scent ones.

did wonder why i see a lot on free postage the other week & it says

"A month of free P&P on selected Philosophy favourites means now is the time to treat yourself, or begin buying gifts for the festive season. Shop science-led skincare, refreshing fragrances, shower gels and more."

I saw that before and from what I could find, there was only 7 products/collections on free postage.

I'm wondering what is going on with Philosophy - why would you stop selling through your own website and on the high street, making your own official outlet QVC!

I thought free P & P would be for the whole range, but it is not. Does anyone know about what is happening with Philosophy? Did QVC buy it?

Apparently Philosophy closed down their UK sales website in March 2015 and just sell through other retailers' sites.

"why can’t i buy from philosophyskincare.co.uk any more
we are focusing all our efforts on our retailers. we want you to have access to the best service possible. our retailer partners’ websites are well equipped to provide you the first class service you deserve. you can still buy all of your philosophy favourites from boots.com, john lewis.com and also via the qvc shopping channel and their website qvc.com."

On the Q blogpost it does say "free p&p on favourites" not the whole range so perhaps they are hoping to hook in Philosophy fans and convert them into loyal Q customers. Seems like an odd marketing strategy to me.

Philosophy is owned by Coty.

Boots and John Lewis are still selling Philosophy but Debenhams is not.

:mysmilie_483::mysmilie_483::mysmilie_483: First class service? On the QVC website...? Who knew Philosphy were such jokers!!!

It sounds like they've cut the UK operation to the bone. Shame for the Philosophy fans to limit them in this way.

Philosophy is owned by Coty who I know are not doing too well so maybe that's why there has been a change in the retail outlets.

I noticed the Philosophy counter had gone from our Debenhams a few months ago.
It was one of those counters that you never saw any customers at. It was right next to the Bobbi Brown one, which always has loads of people trying and buying, so not exactly hidden away in a corner. It isn't even in our Boots store, which is a large one, you just see a few shower gels there at Christmas, on a stand next to a few Yankee candles.

I have to be honest after recently smelling some of their fragrances I won't be interested at all, I really didn't like any of them... personally found them to smell quite cheap.

I can understand why companies use QVC... Q has the ability to sell thousands of units in a day whereas it would likely take weeks or months to sell that in a store or on your own website...

If any brand QVC sell was to become 'exclusive' to QVC I honestly would have said SBC or ABC, but hearing people's experiences on here, I can see why Philosophy have done it now too.

I don't think Philosophy has ever really taken off in the UK.

I don't imagine for one moment that I am typical... but I did like the clean-looking packaging when I first came across it (in JL, not on QVC), but was then put off by the twee "philosophy" on the jars and bottles, and I couldn't smell any aroma in the perfumed items.

When it wasn't about the graces, they have novelty seasonal fragrances - always foodie, which is more to a US taste anyway.

I'm sure those who love it enjoy the subtlety of the fragrances, and those who use the skincare are happy with the results, but I'm not tempted.

That's interesting. They also own OPI too among a plethora of familiar and unfamiliar brands (and the inevitable sleb brands)...

Fascinating. I thought Coty went out of business years ago. I remember buying one of their lipsticks and the colour was Corn Silk. It was all the rage at the time. It made me look like a ghost but I thought that was fantastic. I hope I've learned something since then.

Key word is "selected." I was pleasantly surprised, to see the purity made simple on EP,as well as free postage. Then I saw the supersize duo, incl. the microdelivery facial wash, also on EP.Good price, too. Until it listed £5.95 p+p. It is still cheap but, because p+p is free on the PMS cleanser, the saving is reduced. It's a bit of a quandary, for me; Now I won't buy the cleanser, even though p+p is free because, for £10.50 more, I can get a 946ml bottle of facial wash. But the latter has nearly 6 quid added for delivery. I won't be going for either. I am sure the Q wouldn't mind losing my sale, but others will, I am sure, do the same, for the same reason. If they are going to offer free p+p, offer it across the entire range, don't cherry pick. I hardly ever watch these days (on hols so seen a bit more than usual), and it's been months since my last purchase. Until I ordered the elemis tsv (received today). This was an opportune tsv for me, as I needed everything, and I use elemis. A pro radiance cleanser would have been nice, hence the philosophy set. No worries; I have bought a couple of copies of MC magazine, to get the balance me cleanser, and a 20% discount code.As if that wasn't enoughof a saving, I used my tesco clubcard boost so, in effect, paid half the price.
Apologies for the epic.

Perhaps the reason the skincare is on free P&P is because, now Philosophy has now abandoned selling from it's own website, they need to promote the skincare more strongly on QVC? QVC knows the body stuff will sell - so you get the special prices on the odd item.

One thing that occurs to me - with this new marketing stance, perhaps there will be a second TSV from Philosophy during the year? That might enable them to move away from the Graces straitjacket... but I'd be surprised if the one closest to Christmas would stray from the Graces.

I use and love Philosphy skin care but I think the way they name things seems a bit old fashioned now .For example "Hope is Not Enough" serum really does minimise fine lines and wrinkles, but the name doesnt really say what it is and what it does .To some it will sound like a marketing gimmick .

The eye creams have always been good in my opinion.Boots in Westfield no longer sell Philosophy and I don't know about John Lewis. This brand though is always displayed in a corner somewhere so not exactly given the hard sell.

I like the freshness of Grace but as it doesn't last I never buy it.
