I heard him say it'll go up to a size 26, 26!! :mysmilie_13: how can it hide a multitude of "lumps and bumps" if a size 26 woman is poured into a size 22? Yes there might be stretch but c'mon, not as much as the blithering fools imagination, he really hasn't got a clue.

A lady who is size 26 would look terrible in that dress. Its so wrong saying things like that. I wonder if they get commission for every one sold, but returns don't count. They often give me the impression that you should "just buy it" but they don't care if it gets sent back. I am probably completely wrong but that it how they come over.

Baby Jane is consistent and was shilling those no name 'usual price over £500 :mysmilie_15:' Mattresses and she was in full 'what are you like when you don't sleep? Are you nasty to Children? Do you forget you're driving a car? Do you forget your name? Do you carry out Maniacal Deeds?' mode.

She positively steamrollered through the 'show'. Those weird Daisy The Cow eyes, those bizarrely sculptured Lips, those gesturing Plastic Talons, that Mantra. She is utterly committed to her cause. For some reason I like her, this is wrong.

Creepy Crawley looks like Mick McManus. Apparently he liked one of the 'ladies' in the clip of film that shared a bed with him in the shopping centre. Hayley suggested the lady should phone in with her number and he said he'd like that.

So you see, you can be as camp as Christmas, have more mince than a Bolognese and still have an eye 'for the laydees'.

You can in their Ideal World anyway :mysmilie_59:

Mick McManus, wrestling on the television. Wirral, you have got me so nostalgic for 1970s television!

OMG! I remember visiting my nan on a Saturday when I was young and she'd have the wrestling on, her and my grandad used to love watching it, wow that's a blast from the past! :mysmilie_3:

Yes you're right it is wrong, mind you the idiot probably thinks now it's free returns the customer can send it back, the fact that the customer might be disappointed probably doesn't even enter his mind.

Remember Big Daddy? They were great personalities.

I met Big Daddy once when he was doing a guest appearance on the Isle Of Mann, he was that big his stomache went over my head (I was only seven, and a little seven) he started laughing and picked me up and started walking around with me on his shoulders, there was a big group of holiday makers round him, my dad took us there in August 1973 the year Summerland burned down but here's fate for you though, me and my sister was begging my dad to take us to Summerland as soon as we got there, but he was saying no, no after tea, my dad always gave into me and my sister, but if he wouldn't have stood firm, me and my sister mightn't have been here to day.

Just adding that after tea Summerland wasn't there, we looked out of hotel room to see billows and billows of smoke, it's so sad.

Wow, what a story! It is weird that you're dad was putting off you going there, it is as if fate was doing everything to stop you going there. I often wonder if some of us have someone up there looking out for us. Not everyone of course as we would all avoid being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not religious but I keep an open mind about things like that. And I love the story about meeting Big Daddy! They used to do public appearances like that.

Big Daddy was a really nice jolly fella, I just pushed through the crowd then he spotted me and picked me up because I was prodding his leg with my finger, he laughed looked down and picked me up, he was a lovely man from what I can remember. Yes I agree with you, I think the same, because any other time, within reason my dad would never say no, but this particular day, August the second I think it was because we went for my sisters birthday, but any other time my dad would've gave in and said yes, but for some reason he was absolutely adamant after tea, so there was most definitely someone looking out for me and my sister on that day.

Lol ...We always watched the wrestling in our house on a Saturday afternoon.Much of it was staged but good fun.Big Daddy could flatten his opponent with his belly alone. In those days there wasn't much else to watch.

You're right, there wasn't. Saturday telly with its old black and white films on BBC2 used to bore the bum off me, but then you used to play with your friends and actually talk as opposed to txting. And funnily enough, now I quite like those old black and white films.

Big Daddy would have looked great in that dress! Joking aside if they are going to sell clothes that do go up into the extra large sizes (and I don't mean size 14 -16) I think it would only be fair to have a larger lady modelling alongside the smaller model. I'll give them one thing, their models aren't all stick insects, but none of them would be able to give a size 18+ lady any idea as to how the garment would look on them!

I went for this dress in the end (curse you, Shopperholic, for making me look!!!):mysmilie_12:

I'm a larger-busted, apple-shaped, size 16-18 and went by la Jacks' advice to go down not up, so bought the Large. When it arrives, I will let you know whether it looks a disgrace or not.

Oooops! sorry May! :mysmilie_15: yes I went down a size too, I sound similar shape to you. I've bought Daisy Eldridge tops in XL before because I like the oversized look, but when I've bought the large in the range, that does fit me better/lovely (if I say so me self :mysmilie_17:) I'm sure you'll look lovely, I thought if I don't suit it I can always wear it round the house so nothing really lost for £23. I'll let you know what mines like too May. :mysmilie_3:

Oh my word peeps! Les Kellet, Big Daddy, Ricky Star, Mick McManus, Giant Haystacks, Tally-Ho Kay, Kendo Nagasaki, Pat Roach............you've taken me back to being single and saturday afternoons watching the old black & white tv. Those were the days, ah bless!

I wonder what Mick McManus would have done to Creepy Crawley if he'd BS'ed his Mum into buying one of those horrendous, £500, hydraulic, plastic plop, heated wobbly bits, dumped in your living room unasssembled, chairs?

We can only imagine :mysmilie_59:

May and Turandot, just to let you know Hermes have just delivered my Pick Of The Day, so I've just tried it on and I'm absolutely over the moon, I really am, I'm not normally a dress wearer because I've never found one that's suits me but this one does really suit me. You'd never guess it was only £17.99 (£23 delivered) the quality is brilliant. I'm gutted now I didn't get two, never mind I'll catch them again next time, hope you like yours May when you get it. :mysmilie_3:

Thanks .Im not a dress wearer and I'm wary of uneven hem lines but sounds good .If it comes back in stock in Khaki I might give it a try. Glad you're happy with it.

Glad your'e pleased with it shopperholic I had a look and I really liked it but the Black and the Khaki were sold out and I wasn't sure about the 'Marl' effect. I'll keep having a shufty and see if they get them back in. I only have 2 dresses to my name and one of those is brand new with the tags still on - for me to slim into (its only been waiting for 4yrs lol !!).

I bought the black marl which is a lovely colour, I'm sorry I never got the cobalt but yes I'm the same, I'm going to for the khaki if it comes back in. :mysmilie_3:

I got mine... I bought 3 in the end (thinking to send back what I didn't like). Since they arrived, I've worn the black twice - in this heat it's fantastic! So light and airy, and it looks great on.

I also got the khaki but now have a dilemma, as one of the front seams is puckered... for £17.99 you can't really complain though, but it does affect my potential enjoyment of wearing it - as it's not in stock, I think I will still keep it and just wear it more casually for mooching around at home. I also bought one of the marl ones... which is a different fabric and feels very different. I bought the maroon marl, but I'm really regretful I didn't go for the black marl like shopperholic. They've now gone up to £27.99 which is still less than an easy pay on most dresses on QVC by Yong Kim or Join.

I'm probably going to hang on and hope they do it as PotD again... would be brilliant if they came back with the plain colour viscose ones in some new colours as well though. Definitely worth looking out for if you want an easy wear, comfortable, flattering dress. At these sort of prices, you can't go wrong... and none of them are high % polyester
