I know none of them will take away bags and wrinkles but just looking to minimise them They aren`t really bad for my age so I`m told but because I have bad eye sight my specs just magnify them :( I suffer with dry eye so specs are my only option. so looking to prevent them getting any worse really

IMO the best one is Strivectin eye cream, works on lines, bags, dark circles and improves texture of the skin (under eye area is firmer and somewhat thicker - under the skin, the "padding" (collagen perhaps))

Sorry if I have hijacked your post but could I ask for advice on puffy red ridges on the top of my cheekbones? I have very very sensitive skin particularly at this part.

Try keeping your eye serums etc in the fridge, cold is very good for puffy eyes. Origins No Puffery eye mask is a gel and if keep in the fridge and used as a very thin layer under eye cream will take down puffiness. Concealer using a lighter shade in the dip of the eye and slightly deeper shade on the bag can give the illusion of taking the eye bag down a bit. Of cheaper put two teaspoons in the fridge and then hold them against the bags, it might take them down a bit for a short while.

Collagen unfortunately the molecule it too big to go under the top layer of skin. So the claims of it sinking in and doing this and that under the skin is just rubbish.

Thats ok ....when there is redness (inflammation) especially near the eyes there is no harm in asking your GP about it next time you go.
For years I have suffered with dry flaky skin and have tried to solve the problem myself never really achieving it, never realising it was a medical problem Last summer it got so bad on my face I didn`t want to leave the house and it even bled in some areas ... to cut a long story short my GP got me an emergency appointment at the dermatology dept when he saw my face I hadn`t gone with that as I thought it was just my bad luck to have severely dry skin I was diagnosed with Pseudo Psoriasis After a regime of different creams I was finally rid of my flaky face The nurse I saw was excellent but she did cringe when I told her I exfoliated every day before going out to rid my face of the flakes still angry red yes but better than looking like crusty face!! :( I can now wear face make up :) Sorry for being so long winded ..thats another problem I have lol

Heya Marina,

Yes it is wonderful. It does contain quite a few essential oils and has a faint smell of cloves to it, but it's wonderful. You can even feel it working! I use it because I go swimming 3x per week and the water / goggles leave my eyes all scrunched and puffy. This de-puffs them. It's not heavy or gunky. It's very light and comes ina pump dispenser glass bottle. When you apply it you feel a tingling and after a few minutes there's a noticable difference.

Great, I can see it's on offer at the moment and the size is huge, I shall put it on my list to buy when I finish with my current eye creams.

For dark circles, I swear by Elemis Absolute Eye Serum. I definitely can see a difference (for the worse) if I run out of it. For an Eye Cream, I like my Gatineau Melatagenine. I have been road-testing a sample of the Bioeffect EFG serum, and it has most definitely softened the lines around my eyes. I don't rate Decleor Hydro-whatsitface, for the results (or rather non-results it gave me).

As an aside, I had laser eye surgery 4 years ago and though I do have continued slight eye dryness, it is, without question, the best thing I have ever, ever done. I was so short-sighted I couldn't even see the letter board in the opticians let alone the letters on them, I've gone from -5.7 to -0.5 and every single day I count my blessings that I can wake up in the morning, open my eyes and just see.

That's interesting to read. I've been pondering laser eye surgery for a while, of course primarily for my eyesight. But, it probably sounds vain but putting contact lenses in and out every day I wonder if it'll speed up the ageing (lines and bags) around the eyes. I absolutely avoid stretching the skin when putting them in and out, but you're definitely moving the skin around more than normal. Sorry, going off topic a bit.

Another vote for Gatineau Melatogenine. I've used it for about 12 years (I'm 45 now) and I don't have a single wrinkle / laughter line / eye bag x

I`d love that done but being on a limited income now since early retirement due to ill health some 10 years ago (well over retirement age now) I couldn`t afford it ..another reason for getting rid of specs is the awful dents they make on the bridge of your nose no matter how light or what style and having sensitive skin thats always red!! I did go on one of the web sites a long time ago where you could see if you were a candidate for it and even then my prescription was too high ..it may well be different now as things progress all the time don`t they I`m long sighted .

A word of warning with Scrivectin - just in case any one as stupid as me! I was given a small tube of their 'general' intensive concentrate cream - which does say apply all over cleansed face - and applied it around eye only to wake up next day with eyes half shut!! They'd swollen right up quite scarily. Oops!

I can recommend this eye gel (agree that it's good to keep in fridge) as a natural product which really helps to tighten and cool eye area...

Another vote for strivectin's dark circle cream. Nice texture and does not give me milia, as many others do.

I'm really tempted to give this a go, but I've never spent so much on eye cream before (that's more than I spend on face cream).

I have really dark circles all the time, but according to an Elemis' therapist (at the beauty bash) as these are hereditary there isn't really much hope for getting rid of them.

I am mainly a Clinique girl but I use a different eye cream. I use Dr Hauschka Regenerating Eye Cream, it is a bit pricey at around £50 for 15ml (yikes!) but I love it and it lasts for a long time as you only need a teeny weeny bit.
