Easiyo TSV 29/4/15

Funnily enough I could eat a bounty and selflessly try to clean up the coconut centres left at the end of a box of chocolates (it's my civic duty obviously). I love coconut milk but never made the connection with flavouring yogurt Doh!

I started making Easiyo when my daughter was little (now 19) because she wouldn't eat yogurt with bits of fruit in it and those tiny smooth pots they produce for toddlers seemed expensive and not particularly nice.

I buy odd packets from Lakeland or the Range when they're on offer.

Give the coconut milk a try in the yogurt. I think you will love it. One thing I like is that it has a natural coconut taste - not too sweet. I love it!

this is the best tasting yoghurt ever the shop bought stuff tastes vile & has even been known to bring me out in rashes which this easiyo one has never ever done & i even like the flavours of ones i wouldnt eat in normal fruits

I like Easiyo, but I do go off it for periods of time.

I must say I'm liking the new shaped maker & pots.

I also like the squatter looking pots - I am sick of getting yoghurt all over my knuckles and hands when I stick a spoon in the older tall pots to reach the last 1/3 - 1/2 of the contents.

When I am in Spain, I buy sundae spoons from the Chinese shops. They have long handles and get to the bottom of jam jars, easiyo yoghurt jars.

Great idea! However, I have just dug mine out (an old jam spoon which came free from Robertson's years ago) and trying to fill a small bowl using this took quite a while and I still got a bit mucky from the yoghurt around the top/side of the pot. But it's definitely better and I will use this long spoon when I eat from the Easiyo pot (did I just say that?).

I bought shed loads of packets from Ideal World when they sold off their yogurt brand and it's always set making it in my easiyo maker and pot, though i don't leave it ti get too thick. I love the taste of coconut but hate the gritty texture of the desiccated bits, so if they do a smooth coconut flavour I'd be tempted. I'm not sure there was any need to have a go at SCW cos his yogurt sets :mysmilie_50:
As far as the plastic pots are concerned I wonder whether they've altered the composition, might be worth emailing Easiyo to ask if you're worried? Did you mean the clear pots turned cloudy with use? That's not been my experience and my pots and lunchtakers are over ten years old, and they get washed in the dishwasher.

If you compare a new pot to one that's been used a few times, you'll see the difference.

I just buy packets of the plain mix from wherever and add my own fruit/jam/maple syrup. Not cheaper than shop-bought, but much nicer.

I'm intrigued - I can't seem to find any details which show the difference between old and new... They all look the same to me

I have a long spoon with a squarer shaped bowl part at the end. That must be a sundae spoon. I called it my porridge spoon. Now I know what it's for! You have cleared up a mystery.

I was in the Lakeland Store at Windermere yesterday and some of the Satchets were on offer at £1.99. I don't have a Yoghurt maker so not sure if this is cheaper than elsewhere.

I've found Holand and Barratt the cheapest place to buy, especially when they have the promotional offers on.

Here you go, maymorganlondon. If you scroll down the page a little, you will see pics showing the new and old yoghurt makers, though not both pots side-by-side. The new pots are similar in shape to the new maker, just as the old pots are taller and straighter like the old makers though, so you get the idea.

I like the sound of the lemon & ginger. Is that brand new or has anyone seen it in shops? Sadly, I am not keen on the vanilla bean smoothie and dislike the texture so only eat it mixed in with other yoghurts.

I would only consider the TSV if the maker, pot & 4 sachets were under £25 inc P&P (unlikely!) or the 8 sachets under £20 inc P&P (unlikely!). Anyone hazard a guess as to price?

That's great - I've now bookmarked that page (for the recipes, really). You can sort of see the different shape of the jars - the lid seems to go down in the middle.

The lid, that's definitely good, as it otherwise relies on you having a wide grip and good finger strength at a stretch to open it.

Same here. I like the new design for all sorts of reasons. Wonder if they'll bring out other colours in time as the red, nice as it is, wouldn't be my first choice.

Oh wow! I honestly didn't know that about last year! I didn't even know they have ever done a TSV with a choice of with/without maker. I know it's probably not the cheapest but I don't have a Lakeland near me and the Range is a bit of a trek. H&B is very close but I only buy EasiYo when it's on Buy One Get One Half Price and doubt they'll get the lemon and ginger for some time. I'll have a think about it. Thanks for info anyway, SuperCoolWillow.
