DSR Returns - advice please?

I write it on the actual label on the front of the package now, as well as the slip inside and emailing. It worked for a while and I didn't have to chase. However, it was short lived :(

From mobile, please excuse any silly errors!! :)

I rarely return anything and have never returned anything under DSR. These days I tend to buy tried and tested stuff so it's unlikely to need to go back unless it's faulty.

But I bought some Marta Jonsson shoes recently that have proved difficult. They were great until I tried to walk any distance in them. The heel feels funny. Anyway I called to explain and said that I'd bought other MJ shoes without any problem and I couldn't help but feel this must be a design fault in the shoe. Could I have a returns label?

Thinking you're on a high road to nothing here Tink. But the answer was yes wee Tink you may have a returns label.

No fuss, no argument, no hassle.

However I've just bought a top so no doubt that'll have to go back. But if it does I'll bite the bullet on postage. It might help me relocate my willpower to stop buying clothes from LaQ. Pretty much the only thing I consistently send back.

Do you think the writing in bit is really necessary? I find it hard to believe that when you ring to chase, the advisor actually goes away to find your written intention to return before agreeing to do the P&P refund. Are you sure it's not the phone call that's having the impact and therefore anyone ringing and saying "I sent you a letter" would get it? Especially if you told them the letter was inside your return parcel, which is probably unopened in a skip somewhere.

thanks all...I heard back from Q re the "unopenable" (have I just invented a new word?!) file and they sent the same bit of the T & C as you posted up Bluebell. I must say they've been on the ball, and very helpful, but then again I've never had any problems when contacting CS, I will say that about them. Anyway I now just need to make sure that I do actually receive my P & P back!
Keep us posted Carole:)

I suppose I'm asking if anyone has tried just ringing and saying they're claiming he P&P under DSR, and when CS say "did you write in." just saying "yes".

It should be acceptable to write on the returns slip "RETURNED UNDER DSR PLEASE REFUND POSTAGE". Thats waht ive done with other mail order companies and ive had the money back. All this stuff about sending a letter or fax is just Q trying to make it difficult. And even if you didn't write anything on the returns slip how are CS going to know? They're not going to go and find it are they?

The law actually requires you to cancel in writing.

Indeed, but not that the written notice has to be sent separately from the parcel. If I write the DSR bit on my returns slip, and the package gets to them in 7 days, whats the problem?

Probably not Burlz but as Flamenco says, informing a company in writing that you are returning an item under the DSRs is a requirement of these regulations & I always do it to cover myself against any/all eventualities.

Maybe the Q peeps associated with such things may begin to check up on it at some point, as large numbers of the poor dumb masses who have been merrily waving goodbye to their p&p both ways until now suddenly cotton onto the fact that they can get their original postage back, as is their legal right, if they have not taken advantage of the heavily pushed 30 day MBG, or upon ripping open their parcel have instantly thought 'Yuk! No way!' upon first sight of the offending item!

There will however always be a proportion of people who are simply too lazy to actually do the emailing/writing bit (dunno why when money's involved, just human nature I guess!) & QVC may get to a point where they no longer simply take peoples' word that they have done so? (No doubt if enough people start exercising their legal rights with the DSRs they will also use it an as excuse to drag out the refund process a little longer, while they deal with the avalanche of emails & so on! lol)

Too many chances of that being misplaced BB, an email can be referred back to, or instantly resent if necessary & can be tracked down relatively easily if you need to phone, unlike a return form?

I have also had to request the p+p in the past when I have noticed it has not been refunded, obviously on a return made due to being faulty. When I have had to pay to return it, however, I have never had to pay as much as I did to receive it!

Its when you return the product under Distance Selling Regulations
You can cancel an order within 7 days and get your P&P refunded as well but you have to pay for returning it and you are not
allowed to use or try the product before you return it

OMG!!! Just had an email informing me of the refund for my too big Centigrade coat and guess what? Postage has been paid  first time, no follow up required.

Am impressed...for five minutes. Am sure something else will come along shortly to change that, he he!

Happy to report that I got two separate refunds this week..for the bag and for the P & P, without any further chasing up..result!
