Doll 10 TSV 04/09/19

I had a look at this too, Marina. I thought all the shades are a bit washed out by too much light in the video but it gives you an idea. There are also photos in this blog

And I found this quite useful on the QVC US website as (if it's accurate) you get an idea of which is more yellow, more pink, etc.

I did my own swatches of the Fair and Light in HydraLux and HydraGel foundations and there is definitely NO shade continuity throughout Doll 10. The two Fairs are completely different, as are the two Lights.

I don't know why I'm looking - I should be resisting!!

Can you compare with Bareminerals or IT Cosmetics? I am fairly light/fair ivory in the BM Original Foundation, vanilla in Complexion Rescue and fair in IT Cosmetics' CC Cream. In case I want to dip my toes, or rather, my face ;-), into Doll 10, which shade should I go for? I need advice, please.

I think the fair in Doll 10 is very like Fair in the IT CC foundation. Not very very light ( for me, I wear Fair in BM originals) & I think they tend to run really quite yellow.

Sorry Ani I use neither of the above

I think the fair in IT Cosmetics is quite neutral, but not as fair as "for the fairest of the fair", that's right. I think those American brands in general are often too yellow and too dark for people like me with freckles and fair skin.

I might watch a presentation before deciding.

I have swatched both Fair and Light in Tarte CC+ Illumination Cream, Doll 10 HydraGel and Doll 10 HydraLux.

I don't think this will be as helpful as I hoped because (a) I can't get the light right to give an accurate representation of what I see with the foundation in front of me (in my photos they come out too beige/pink where most have more yellow in reality - something I like but I know many don't); and (b) Fair in the new Doll 10 Anti-Stress Skin Perfector may well be very different from Fair in HydraGel or HydraLux (themselves different, as I was saying in my post above about no continuity across the brand). However, if you know one of the shades in my photos, you can at least compare one against another.

They are, in order left to right:

Tarte CC+ Illumination Cream - Fair
Doll 10 HydraGel - Fair
Doll 10 HydraLux - Fair

Tarte CC+ Illumination Cream - Light
Doll 10 HydraGel - Light
Doll 10 HydraLux - Light

The third one was taken outside - at least the yellow shows a bit more.

The more I look at the photos and differences, the more I wonder how I can get them all to work on me! I do mix one or two sometimes. And, being tight, of course I picked up all the swatches on a brush and used them up - I think I've found my perfect shade!!!

You are right Andi, the Fair looks very dark almost as Deep in the first two photos and on the last one it's much closer to its true colour.

It's such a shame - looking at the shades on the phone camera screen, they looked right, but the photos taken indoors have come out so dark. I have probably confused anyone who is not familiar with the brands completely!

Why is it that so few brands can make a shade light enough for those of us with really Fair skin? It isn’t as though we are SO rare in this country.

I avoid any TSV which includes a foundation as it will be very hit and more of a miss to get the right colour and that is wasted P&P & return ( unless I have done a shade match in store for The likes of Bare Minerals)

I tell my Hubby off for being on his laptop , then sneak a look on here to see if any calculations are required. Like to keep my mind active & my love for numbers fulfilled. I also love a bargain & as much as we moan about Q the beauty bargains are worth having, after the stash is used of course.

Just turned on to find Chloe Everton glaring through my TV, I thought I was having a nightmare! :mysmilie_13:

Why is Doris trying to outdo Mally in the shouting stakes? I find both of then impossible to listen to.

That's so nice of you to show the swatches. Thank you!:)

I think I won't order because the lightest shade still appears quite dark to me.

I agree there’s no consistency of shade when it comes to the Doll10 Fair foundations. The Hydragel, which I love for its coverage, is still too yellow for me because I have pink undertones (but the finish is so good I put up with the yellowness). The Hydralux is awful - so dark and so orange.

The swatches on air of this new foundation look really fair and that they might work on me, but even so, I don’t need the highlighter (have it already) or the cream blushes (have two) or the lipsticks (have loads ).

Does anyone have any recommendations for a foundation with coverage as good as Hydragel but a better colour match for a cool toned pale person?
