It takes a while to organize jabs, passports etc. and you can board tyem in Crete until they’re ready to travel.

There are a few organisations who take care of all the logistics. They usually fly from Crete to a destination I can’t remember, then travel by road to the channel tunnel and then to an arranged meeting point. I bought a flying crate for the first dog as I was in Crete at the time but the transport company has their own. Here they are. Aled on the left and Rhys on the right.

Living on the Isle of Wight, the Air Ambulance is an essential when we need the big hospitals in the mainland, so they are the only mainland charity we give to.
Discovering that a lot of the mainbcharities, e.g. RSPCA and Age UK are actually independent local charities and not funded by what we assume to be their Head Office, they have to raise all their own funds!!!
So local only...and don't be fooled, the charity shops don't always support the local branch either, ask next time you go in.
HIOWAA is the air ambulance I donate to as well. They’re in the process of moving from Thruxton to Southampton so they’ll have a quicker response time for the Isle of Wight and the more southern parts of our region. It’s amazing how many times in a year they fly over my house. I also give to GAFIRS our local independent lifeboat, who are not funded by the RNLI.

Dread to think how much donation income other charities have lost out on due to loss of trust since the Ingram-Moore disgrace. If Hannah Ingram-Moore had worked at QVC years ago she would definitely have secured that infamous crown for herself.

A few years back here in N.I. they started let's get an air ambulance. Nearly every shop had a collecting tin and people dropping in their loose change. Then, it was found to be a scam and the so-called charity was fake and the people behind it taking the money.

We did get one in the end, with an official charity starting.

I watched a little of the molton brown presentation last night and there was a promo video where they said QVC were donating £45,000 to the Trussell Trust (food banks) and encouraging customers to do the same- didn't catch details as I was wandering about at the time..........

They’re donating to Trussell Trust from money raised from staff fundraising. I think the wording said that QVC would donate £45k.

The cynic in me did wonder if they showed this after reading this forum.

I think you may well be right what with Liz Earle and l'occitane I've dipped into much more shows than usual and it was the first time I heard it. Not cynical - on the ball!
