I know I should put this in Off Topic but it might get lost there.

From the British Beauty Blogger Beauty Business News.

More L’Oreal news – they’ve finally sold Decleor after ceasing production back in the autumn of last year. The buyer is a new brand building company called Cospal, headed up by Matthieu Lesieur who has links to the brand as his father bought it in the 1980s before selling it to Shiseido (who sold it to L’Oreal). It is reportedly going to be ‘reinvented from scratch’ and I feel quite excited to see what direction the brand will now take and when it will re-emerge.

Decleor wasn’t in a good way when they left QVC. The basics were still there in terms of oils and balms, but in the rest of the range there seemed to be way too many new formulations that nobody wanted or liked, at least judging by the reviews. Nothing stayed the same for more than a few months, with names and ranges changing all the time, new things introduced and disappearing after five minutes, while much-loved, top selling products were abandoned in favour of half-hearted alternatives. I still miss the shower gel in the blue teardrop-shaped bottle!

I doubt it will ever be the same brand that loads of us loved and used for years but I would still test it out when it comes back to the market. I'm using Elemis at the moment which is fairly good. I got a Gatineau set for Christmas in the hope it may have improved from the last time I used it but unfortunately it hasn't and most of it is on Ebay :(.

Now that is some news. Be very interesting to see exactly what they do with it but suspect it’ll be a fair while before production is up and running 😢.

Gatineau, in my local TK Maxx always loads of it. Last weekend I spotted the super size of the mask which QVC had sold a big deal the month before in TK Maxx it was £9.99. I even spotted some Decleor as well.
I never see any of these brands in my local TK Maxx, unfortunately, even though it’s a pretty big store. Having bemoaned that, I did get a huge Decléor gradual tan in there about 5 years ago - at the time, it was 2-3x as much on QVC. They have a couple of Decléor items online currently, not that I am buying, myself.

My TK Maxx moved back in early November to new location so it is an only one floor but big bright and shiny new.
Gatineau and Philip Kingsley, always in there. Lots of Elizabeth Grant, we have L'Occitane and Molton Brown lately. Clarins, I bought the double serum, but they had face creams too.

I think it’s favouritism towards you, Donna! It’s just not fair that I don’t see these products! ;) Mind you, I probably wouldn’t be able to buy them anyway as there’s a real problem here with people breaking open packaging (not even carefully where that’s possible) to examine or try

I wonder if Decléor will bring back the Prolagène gel so many liked. If anyone is desperate, there’s a 400ml tube on eBay at the moment for £129.95. It’s free P&P, too! Bargain!

Hydrafloral essence, the handcream and the peerless prolagene gel were my favourites, closely followed by the aromessences and balms.
Without doubt, in my view, it was always the best value brand on Q.
L'Oreal were the worst possible owners in my opinion. Vandals and obsessed the cost cutting to the detriment of the unique qualities that made Decleor so beloved.

I’m not holding out much hope on the products being anything like the originals. I loved the oils and balms, so am keeping my fingers crossed!
