I tend to have faith in what Ali Young tells us and I do understand that, in reality, she cannot prefer every product, or have every face cream/eye cream as her favourite. Just now the Liz Earle guest has declared Ali to be a new devotee of eyebright; so did she not use it before? I have found her to be quite candid about beauty products/ranges, and who they are aimed at, and who should and shouldn't use them. Yes, her primary aim is that of any salesperson, to encourage us to buy from the beauty selection on offer; she has not, in my opinion, compromised her professionalism by trying to get us to buy everything on the shows. Having said that, if she did people would be justified in being sceptical about anything she says. :hi:

she is a salesperson, working for QVC, of course you can not trust what she says as far as favourite beauty products, "I use this all the time" and so on.

She once said very emphatically that she only has 2 perfumes in her house, Mark Jacobs that her hubby buys her & Mally's as thery're the only 2 she uses, (she was selling Mally's at the time). So much for the wonderful, enticing offerings of Tova's, LE, Artisan & all the others she flogs then lol!

I wouldn't trust everything she says. Not that she is particularly bad, but her advice will be constrained to QVC lines. She is hardly likely to say "forget paying £30 for this, there's a product down at Superdrug for £4.99 that is great!"

i don't believe anything any of them say about the products they use or own.
They contradict themselves far too often for anything they say to be taken seriously.

I spoke to Ali at the beauty bash. She was wearing Mally make up. She said she considers Mally to be the most talented make up artist in terms of getting colour just right out of every brand Q do.

I agree with her. The colour may seem garish on screen, but on the skin they are perfect.

Iv alwasy thought Alison would love to be even more frank about what suits who and who deosnt need a certain brand but I think qvc make it hard for her to do that. Primarily she has to be a sales woman and beauty consultant second. Sad she cant have more free reign.

Considering Mally was not represented at the beauty bash (sadly), I think that was praise indeed from Ali.

They can't LOVE everything! I use Liz Earle C&P/IBST/ the Superskin oil & cream.Am 65 so slurp, slurp!
LE (IMO) hand cream is the best ever & Body cream (if I wn't to pay the price)
L'Occitane soap ( never without, EVER!).have ordered some PK hair products as have tried & are V,Good.
With makeup I try different ranges although Bobbi Brown cream blushers are a must & LG B&Bo

One thing I always liked is Alison isnt all beauty she has a life other than tv and beauty, she gets her hands dirty on the farm, with the horses etc. not many qvc female presenters would consider mucking out.

I think you have made a very valid point regarding what the made up models look like on screen , everyones tv is set up differently , I know my 2 tv's are re colour .. so I do think you need to see the make up applied in the flesh to get a better understanding of how it looks for real

Like everything they mostly say, it should be taken with the a HUGE pinch of salt. It depends who they're on with, if it is Decleor (3 in 1 cleanser), Emma Hardie, Alpha H, Lulu, and anyone else who do the all in one cleanser then no you don't need a toner. If its LE, Elemis, and any other brand that do the usual cleanse, tone, moisturise, then yes you do need to tone, otherwise your skin will start peeling off. Well not literally, but you get the picture lol.

Ali always used to say she'd never be without a bottle of Calyx! Hhhhmmmn!

Jude xx

Iv watched quite a bit today on beauty day and some of the presenters talk about these lotions so much that you would think they were some kind of all purpose antibiotic

I lost a lot of respect for Alison since she started doing shows with Lulu, she hangs on every word Lulu says . We all know that Lulu has had work done yet Alison has never confronted her yet i seem to remember Alison last year having several digs at other presenters having had botox and was encouraging customers to txt in if they wanted to no ( think it was an anniversary of in the salon with alison show) however she chickened out and never told us. Lulu looks like she does due to the surgery and botox nothing to do with her skincare range .

I find it hard to believe that there are still people who believe in the power of skin care, if it was that good we would not need plastic surgery, or it would be on prescription

I went to a dermatologist when i had a flair up of ecxma .While i was there i asked him about anti ageing moisturisers. He said it was the biggest con going .
