As far as I know, the radio does not have Bluetooth (mine doesn't), so the speaker would not work with it (and you wouldn't need it anyway).

So the speaker could only be used with other devices, like tablets, smartphones, iPods etc. so no good if you haven't got one.

I bought a fairly recent TSV with a SOUNDTOUCH base and remote.

This has an app for an ipad etc, it gets internet radio from all over the world, and your ipad (and other APPLE devices) can play onto it wirelessly (using Apple Airplay, not Bluetooth).

The circular remote is great except that it keeps crashing and the batteries have to be removed and replaced to reset it, a real pain.

It took about 2 days to set it up, with Bose on the phone for a total of about 4 hours talking me through it, loads of software updates for both the base and the remote.

But when it works, it is excellent.

OHHH, for some reason it's shown the rear view! But you can see that the base is a separate attachment, but from the front it looks like all one unit.

They haven't done this model since.

if anyone is seriously thinking about the new TSV, please ask any questions here, and I'll see if I can answer them. For example, unlike every other DAB radio, you have to set the time MANUALLY and you can't set it exactly, so it is out of step with my other clocks eg on video recorder. Quite annoying to me, to see different times displayed.

The new TSV is a strange combination, just 2 entirely unrelated items. The speaker won't work with the radio, and vice versa.
