They actually look quite nice, but they're very boring for a TSV IMO.

Also, the saving on the regular Q price doesn't even cover the P & P, which always annoys the hell out of me for some reason.

So do we get the extended MBG for Xmas stuff bought this early? I you get these and test them to make sure they work by the time you're putting your decs up they develope a fault or you find they don't cover your tree or whatever but it'll by too late and outside the 30 day MBG. I wouldn't risk it.

You would have statutory rights if not working at Christma and QVC would have to respect them.

I have had pretty good experience with QVC when returning things like this outside the mbg period. These look quite nice. I may be getting a new kitten and if so will pare down my decs this year- these would be much safer in case he chewed the wire as well!

If items are defective within 6 months QVC will normally refund. On this basis I've bought the white ones.
I have a calla lily set of the Bethlehem lights and they are still going after 2 years

If you're planning on using then outdoors my advice would be don't bother. I tried 3 lots last of Bethlehem LED string lights last year, put the battery pack on a freezer bag, tried everything, they all went bump within a few days after very average rain showers. Gave up after the 3rd replacement failed. It's not even as if they were totally exposed to the elements, I have a balcony so if anything they were slightly sheltered from the wind and rain, and I hid the battery pack behind the railings where it hardly got any rain.

Shame as they did look lovely... for a few days until they broke.

This TSV is the perfect candidate for "buy more save more" or, as some of the Jewellery channels do: offer a separate item number which lets us but a set of all colours delivered for the same £3.95 p&p. There's no reason why they couldn't ask the vendor to supply these sets ready-boxed together so that their antiquated warehouse can pick and pack them using their odd "we can't pack stuff together" system.

I've ordered a couple of sets of the white on advanced orders so that I can read he reviews before they're despatched.

I still have that outdoor set from last year but not in use. At one point they stopped working (even with the controls in a plastic bag) so I brought them indoors and dried them out in the airing cupboard. They started working again and remained outside until mid Jan. I have some mains lights for outside too and even these pack up and have to be brought indoors to be dried out at at times.
BTW I have one of those ozone fridge deodoriser from QVC and it occasionally packs up and has to have the airing cupboard treatment. I use it without the alarm otherwise the battery runs out too quickly. I must have had it at least 2 years now.

What a disaster!!! My tsv order arrived today, only two sets work. When I rang customer services I was told the only option is to return them as they have no spare sets and the manufacturers will not be replacing any faulty sets.
So much for Bethlehem lights and the amazing customer service that QVC insist they offer. I'm fuming.:mysmilie_51:

Will they allow you to keep 2 and just return the faulty one and give you a discount?

Thanks for the suggestion. I rang customer services but they insist that the whole set must be returned and there can be no part refunds. It was worth trying!
John Lewis wouldn't do this, the only company more trusted than QVC, according to QVC. My experience of both companies puts John Lewis leagues ahead.

i dont believe what qvc are saying regards being a trusted brand unless the testing was done blind. there are several brands that would have resolved issue better

Back from holiday and have the TSV lights working, they cheer up the sitting room now the nights are much darker.

i have a love hate relationship with bethleham lights love when they work hate when they dont..considering they are meant to last years your lucky to get a few months grrrr
