considering bethlehem lights are supposed to be used commercially at theme parks how come mine only last around 6 months. i even dry them out and still something will break. the knob to turn them on/off or the battery contacts rusting, or them simply never comming on again. they work out very expensive and are only guaranteed for 6 months according to qvc

Boffy, I have several sets and they all work perfectly. I do wrap the box in cling film though. S*d the guarantee -I would be on the phone to them if I found any of the ones I bought last year didn't work this year!

how long have you had them for sq

I got one of the poinsettia hanging basket things. it actually looks pretty good so long as you don't get too close.

But the clips holding the battery compartment broke the second year. had to clamp it shut.

the third year I couldn't face fighting with it, and we had it without lights.

- in a tub, in the disused fireplace. looks pretty good, but not as good as they claim. nothing is, is it?

i have bought some small wired battery ones from m&s and they have lasted years. they are not supposed to be used outside but every year i take them out and use them in plants in the front garden

I had a set of Bethlehem Lights and they lasted 3 days outside, boffy. And then I got a replacement set which lasted 4 days. I agree with you, how on earth they can claim to be industrial grade I do not know.

all i can think of is they hope you just use them for xmas then put them away. by then the guarantee will have run out. but i like my tiny garden with some lighting all year round.

I would definitely dispute this with them boffy. A set of lights that Q actively promote to use outside should have a longer guarantee than that. I don't care what they say. I'd expect 12 months at an absolute minimum. 6 months is ridiculous IMO.
