Sorry but I seriously worry about some of the CB followers on Q`s facebook page. Not only are they asking for bears to be named after dead loved ones, or a bear in likeness of their dog who`se due to have puppies but one person has asked for a bear she can fill with her Dad`s ashes and then carry it around in her handbag.
I just don`t get this bear thing so any fans on here then please bear with me because I think some of these people are just nuts !

Agree with you completely! I love furry things but these bears make me cringe and are totally unbearable, sorry haaa! Each to their own and all that but seriously don't get it, in fact I can't even watch them when on. Pawing and oooing all too much :mysmilie_43:

It was the carrying her Dad`s ashes in a handbag bear which got me . Mind you knowing today`s commercialism it wouldn`t surprise me if they brought out a full range of handbag bears to hold dead peoples ashes.

Seriously no words to this, unbelievable???

Yes I think her usual buy one! buy two!! buy ten!!! won't apply to this somehow, doubt it'll stop her trying though. :mysmilie_17:

Now Shopperholic you haven't thought this through! One set of ashes divided out between the whole family therefore multiple bear ash carriers required.

Maybe she'll be immortalised as a bear.Wonder what it would be called?I can think of a few names . I'm surprised the real Charlie hasn't wanted to be honoured as a bear too.

They did Charlie, didn't they? I'm sure they did a Brooks bear, just as they immortalised Dale as Franklin the Fox (and yes, I think it was silver...).

Bet they loved that.Sure some hard core fans fell over themselves to buy their own presenter bear.Ha ha so D F would be a witch maybe -with as loveallthingsitalian suggested- a pointy finger? In fact the whole lot could be made into bears.I have names for them all..... mostly.unprintable.

Ohhh I see, thanks Vienna, rather than carrying a bear around, wouldn't it be much nicer to put some ashes in a small pendant or something, much easier than carrying a bear, oh well takes "all sorts" as Simon Dairylee would say.

You can get your loved ones ashes made into jewellery. Company is called Ashies into Jewellery UK.

OMG! No words and putting these kind of things online is rather upsetting! Don't get why grown ups (or are they) have such a want about them :mysmilie_5:

Ok, lets get real here. Assuming you do have an 'ash' carrying teddy bear, and the cat gets hold of it - suddenly there is cat litter everywhere and then a cat has to do what a cat has to do !! Failing that, what happens to said teddy bear when the owner of it dies ? sadly no doubt straight into the dustbin - so whats the point in the first place ?

Yes, ashes can be contrived into anything these days - I even saw a programme where the ashes were mixed with oil paint and became a piece of wall art. Seriously, what's wrong with scattering as per normal, at sea or in a lovely rose garden ?

I quite agree.By scattering the ashes you return them to earth and you have no need to worry about what happens to them in future. Keeping them in a bear is a bit odd. Some people have them buried and plant a rose bush or small tree.

I agree that everyone should be free to do as they wish as long as they hurt noone else. However,I feel this 'ash artifact 'market is yet another fashion set to part us from our money.Sadly when most vulnerable.

Thats true .Feeling guilty at the vets after having an elderly cat put to sleep I opted to have the ashes which cost me a whole lot more. True they were in a nice box with a card but my husband said how do you know you are getting your own cats ashes.

I felt pressured to do it but in the past the vet has disposed of the cat .i scattered them on the garden ,but as far as I'm concerned our pets have a fantastic life and I don't really need to have a memorial to them. I'm not a believer in any sort of after life.

It's ashes to ashes, not ashes to bears, isn't it?

There are some odd-sounding ideas out there, but if it comforts someone who is bereaved, and it hurts no-one, and the bereaved person isn't being ripped off there's no harm in it, surely.

Oh my goodness, am I glad I don't do facebook. Weird.
