Anyone else been disappointed with "Beauty Month?"

The resident beauty expert was not seen very much apart from her weekly show - poor effort if that was beauty month ...

I haven't bought a single item this month and I don't think there's anything coming up in the three our finale that's going to tempt me.

I know this is possibly not quite in the spirit of this thread (as it was mainly about product and not people), but Keely Aryden (Elemis), is really really starting to annoy me now, she has always to me seemed to act a bit 'immature' (except when she goes in 'work mode' where she is totally professional and does know her product), but it is getting beyond cringe-worthy now, it is possibly to the point where her bosses (I know she is probably self-employed/franchised but she is under the banner of Elemis, so she needs to start acting professional. It was stark when she and Fiona Brackenbury (who is probably about the same age), were on together (first time on, thought there was a clause stating that as 'mortal enemies (found out that this was also a myth)), acted friendly but maintained a professional stance at all time.

So for me the products don't matter as I don't tend to purchase, it is just keely, who I never had any views one way or another before, seems to me to be 'regressing' as she is getting too 'comfortable'. I can see (although I hope this is just 'pie in the sky') that she ain't going to get any ideas of filling in for Alison at any point, I can't honestly see this happening, but in my mind she is getting a bit too 'pally'!

Sorry I will shut up now as I have just completely ransacked this thread

Staticboombox, I agree - the endless banging on about "you wouldn't drink a green smoothie in the evening" has driven me insane - maybe I like to drink green smoothies at night, eh eh eh????!!! They're obviously trying to get in on Decleor's facial oil stranglehold (I love the stuff) and they're using any tactic possible, no matter how lame-o!

The problem I think with QVC and beauty is that they are losing their edge - a lot of the brands have defected to other retail outlets, so they have lost that element of exclusivity (as well as some of the brands) and their non-TSV prices are simply not as competitive as they used to be, Liz Earle being a classic example. They also seem to have largely stopped making the more educational type shows where they have experts in to actually answer questions as well as talk about their products, rather than endlessly flogging one product after another. Aside from the weekly Ali Young shows and occasional ad hoc brand shows, it's all hard sell - it's probably a naive point to make, mind, it is after all a shopping channel, I just don't enjoy watching it any more because of that.

I think you have summed the issues with Q brilliantly, as brands have become available at other outlets and companies like Liz Earle have good offers themselves the prices Q charges don't always seem that good anymore. Otos don't seem very interesting either, usually just a couple of pounds off and often stuff they can't seem to shift. I always used to watch Q when there wasn't much on the tv but now it's so boring most of the time I turn it off

Absolutely spot on - the OTOs do often resemble unwanted leftovers and like you say, not always the amazing value they trumpet. (No point even discussing the insanely inflated P&P charges, which despite endless and justified complaints they will not reduce/combine, ridiculous!!!!)

As for the TSVs, so many of the brands have become so repetitive in what they offer, the almond-centric L'Occitane TSV next week being a classic example (admittedly I don't especially rate the almond stuff, but even if I did, it's been in pretty much every TSV for the last two years). Now it could be they are bending to the will of the consumer (no problem with that), but then the alternative argument is that they are playing safe and flogging us the same old stuff because they know it always sells.

Dunno about you, but there's only so much I can stockpile before I lose interest and like you, I find it so boring to watch!

beauty month would be boring as its part of beauty week, a beauty day, a beauty hour. theres just far too much beauty to make it special

Ohh your palette is falling apart, not good. So many good reviews with this brand, not yet tried it! Nothing has tickled my fancy, in fact anytime I've switched on it's been anything but beauty, LOL! My stash is decreasing which is the best news yet :mysmilie_5:

I messaged Leigh from Tarte as well as QVC and it looks like a new palette will be on it's way to me soon :)

well to say june has been beauty month on qvc i have a been terribly disappointed. I bought the miolton brown tsv but it. Nothing else has tempted me in the slightest. Has anyone else felt the same as me or perhaps you feel differently and have been impressed with it.
