And to think that the on-screen gram weight is an average across the manufactured sizes for the item code, I'd hate to be a L/M size! Not illegal of course but this type of selling technique ("shystering" as TMWNN describes it) borders on true gaslighting.

Slight off comment, but related. (Not a comment that is off, as in terrible). That is why I try to buy the largest, within reason, size of an item of jewellery, be it ring, or bracelet. Not necessarily coz it fits better, but coz you get more 'product' for the same price. Call me cheap

How the heck can they think that 1.7 grams of gold is 'heavy' on the gold? This amount is inadequate for a decent ring and would be likely to bend with use. I'd think that the part of the band that sits underneath the finger is extremely thin, and if you caught it on anything the band would likely snap.

She said that because it was such a rare treasure they could put more gold in the band which was why it was SO heavy lol. Yes, a ring should contain at least 2gms of precious metal in the band. I can't see how 1.7gms could be described as heavy!

I think they're still trying to convince people that gold is so expensive that the ring's worth it for the gold content alone - which is another thing that is not true and they should not be saying it or implying it on air. I haven't noticed them pointing out that anyone can check the current price of gold online - if the ring's such a bargain for the gold weight alone you'd think they would.

It's the neck that puts me off Shows her age. Not that older people can't be models, but not the most glamorous photo of her.

I've met Angeline - and although I'm not a huge fan of her presenting style, which can sometimes come across as a bit 'aggressive' and over-confidence, in person, she's really quite different to her presenting style. She seems really nice and welcoming - as is Nick.

The only two I've met that are like their 'on-screen' personas is Carol Roache from Jewellery Maker - she's just as gobby and annoying in real life - and Dave Troth. In fact, I'd say Troth is worse. He comes across as REALLY ignorant. I don't think it can be put down to shyness either because if he was shy, I doubt he'd have the confidence to spend hours and hours on our screens each day.

I think when Steve Bennett sold his shares to employees you can bet she got more than the others. She definitely pushes her Bennett relationship on others and it shows when she's presenting.
Definitely full of self worth and importance

My personal view is that DT comes across as arrogant - the "I know better than you, so you need to listen to me" syndrome. Which is why I normally switch off after 2 minutes. I watched a bit of the agate hour this morning, where he was partnered with Ange, and when it came to the bit where he said people were multi-buying, which was understandable(?), but it was easier for him if they just bought one of the piece - well, then the Off button was hit at record speed. I just knew there was some complicated explanation coming, and to be honest I had paint to watch drying so I zoned out.....

When I watched years ago I used to like her and think she was knowledgeable. But over the past years, as more and more of the 'old time' presenters left, I think she's become too big for her boots. She has a hectoring manner which I find quite aggressive at times, and would turn me off from buying anything even if I was still buying, if you see what I mean. Can't stand that sort of presenter.
