This morning, AlphaH was on with a new Daily Essential Moisturiser with SPF50 - just wondering if anyone has used this and what you thought of it? QVC don't quite go the distance with information again, and wanted clarity on it needing to be reapplied every 2 hours. I also wanted to know if it contains manuka honey? I "tweeted" QVC who passed it to AlphaHQ, but no response received as yet. It looks as though it has been made for the Australian market, so I assume that really applies to sitting on Bondai Beach in the glorious sun, not Brighton's pebbles in the chilly grey!

It's the best face factor 50 cream I've used, it's so light and sinks in really easily. I used it as an everyday day cream though to protect against incidental sun damage, I wouldn't rely on it specifically for sunbathing or on days where I'm outside a lot, it's not a long wear SPF formula, and it's too expensive to keep reapplying! But for an every day face cream it's good, if you were using it specifically for its SPF properties you'd have to reapply regularly.

It's a lower SPF, but I use Simple's SPF30 day cream now, considerably cheaper but with a similarly light texture, no pore clogging, often on BOGOF offers in Superdrug. I really trying to cut back on expensive skincare purchases given the fact that there are good high street dupes out there for much better prices.

I use this. I don't sunbathe and just use it as my daily moisturiser and don't reapply it during the day. Can't help with the manuka honey, can't see it listed on the back under ingredients.

Why would it continue Manuka Honey?

Its used as a healing product not usually in beauty face creams.

I wear spf50 every day all year round I don't sit in the sun. I have mild rosacea which the sun sets off.

If you have a look on the Alpha-H Facebook page, in the comments' section, there was someone asking about the reapplication of the moisturiser with SPF, and Tom said it should be enough if you apply it once a day as long as you don't take sunbathes with it.

Don't find it on Facebook.... or did Tom have a Q&A hour on QVC UK's page?

I wonder whether you'd actually (literally) receive 2 tubes..wasn't there a BCC item that was advertised as a duo but only one was sent out? When folk started complaining QVC said "it still represented excellent VFM"

Yes, I was one of them, got half of the money back in the end. I'd say this one should be a duo for the £40 plus pnp.

They didn't give me that option, just sent me a label to return the one that I was sent! It's infuriating when the remedy varies depending on who answers your call to CS!

I had to insist to speak to the supervisor, otherwise my only option was to get the label and send it back.

I’m very keen on copper skincare and although NIOD may be the best on the market I’m still keen to try it from Alpha H as I still love this brand. I also love the Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) cream from Strivectin so would be interested to try out hopefully in a TSV or free pnp. Unfortunately, Alpha H brand is becoming less and less affordable and its affordability used to be one of the main selling points.

BTW, they are on next

i agree i bought alpha h from day one and been using it for years but its got really expensive. i like to to slot in with other brands and use it on its own,

Having said that Alpha H prices are getting steeper, their TSV prices are really good and competitive.
I’ve just seen Decleor TSV price on the other thread, £68.96 (read £70) plus pnp £6.95 (read £7).

All the beauty tsv's are getting much dearer and the weak pound isn't going to help. I like gatineau moisturisers but they are silly prices on their own and I don't want most of the bits that bulk out the tsv's. The decleor tsv is a full system and I will use it. Alpha h have yet to offer a full system tsv as far as I remember but most of their products do the same job so I just buy my favourite bits as and when.

The value in the Decléor TSVs is, in my opinion, the best value of any of the beauty TSVs. You always get full size (or bigger) products, and invariably a full regime, and although a higher price point for the set than most of the other brands, the value of the individual items can always be costed (because they are full size or bigger).

There are a number of Alpha H kits on Beauty Bay at a good price : http://www.beautybay.com/_/N-/?Ntk=All&Ntt=alpha+h&Ntx=mode+matchallpartial

re Niacinamide, i haven't used the Strivectin,
but the Alpha H version in their night serum
but my favourite one is Deciem' s The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% and Zinc 1% Serum
and it is £5.90 for 30ml
thought you might like to know about, if you don't already

It's been on my wish list a while lilith. Do you know if it's any good on scars (ache scars)?

yes, it is good for fading older blemish marks over time (not over night)
and the zinc is really good for calming down and healing any active breakout

Brilliant, an affordable replacement for Strivectin (I could see a marked difference in acne scars in around three days using Strivectin, but they use a patented molecule NIA-114 as well as 8% concentration).
