There is an Alpha-H TSV on 3rd January and part or all the TSV is going to be supersize

Hope it's a supersize Liquid Gold! I have a dilemma now, do I order a 200ml from Beauty Bay that has 20% off and free p & p now or do I wait for the TSV?

Oh god PLEASE no more liquid gold! I have enough to keep me going until 2019!!

But no doubt it'll be in there!

No more LG for me either
The same goes for me. And I hope the supersize won't be a cleanser again.... Maybe a serum this time? Or a cream with SPF? They have a new handcream with SPF 50, by the way.

You are right Ani, there's an SPF product 100 ml. It also may be any of the pipette bottles 50 ml.

just brought this thread back to say that
from Jan 6 next year, M&S is going to stock Alpha H

No more liquid gold for me. Like pixi and the nip and fab glycolic pads.

hiya Snowstorm
would love to hear how the Pixi (glycolic toner, right ?) and the Nip&Fab pads compare/contrast to your usage of Liquid Gold
and how do you use them
and why did you change ?

i am very interested to learn more, as and when you may have time to share ....

i have mentioned before that i am a little cautious with using LG too often
even though i get good results
reason being that someone i know has a beauty salon
and she says that while it might give good results
it is fairly harsh and after 6 months or so, there may be regrets
and there are other gentler acids to use
and i had been thinking myself, being a little cautious as to the extra risk of thinning skin
rather than thickening skin induced by skin defending itself from harsh sun
hence had wondered if what is great to use on skin in Oz, may not not totally translate 100% in Blighty
and the trade off with regard to immediate good short term result vs medium to longer term possible damage ?

just to let you know the background to my questions/musings .....

Hi Lilith

Liquid gold is fab but I wanted to find an alternative. With pixi no stinging and I like the fact I can use it night and day. It's gentle and exfoliates. I have combi skin however this has made a huge difference. I use the glycolic night pads a couple of times a week. The bonus is both are cheaper than liquid gold. If liquid gold is on at a good price I would purchase. However, at the moment am happy with my current regime.

Snowstorm
as it 'appens
i ambled across the nip & fab glycolic night pads (extreme) in Boots
and it was only a fiver something for 60 pads, reduced by £7 something
and i got if free on my loyality points
thought it would be rude not to :mysmilie_17:

i saw that it has glycolic as well as other (gentler) acids such as lactic, mandelic and salicylic plus niacinimide
nice one
hope it will help my currently hormal outbreaks on chin
will let you know how i get on when i have given it good go

Ren also has some good stuff based on glycolic plus gentler acids
will investigate in due course, but is more expensive full price anyway

i have been using liquid gold for several years since it was launched on qvc. does not harm your skin at all. its actually quite an old ingredient thats been used for many decades in the beauty industry so tried and tested. i dont understand why someone in the beauty industry would say this!

i think it it may be a bit more nuanced than that
i.e. exfoliation at different levels of gentleness
she (the beauty salon owner - Decleor is her main brand a nd she also on a Nail bar now with Leighton Denny) said it has to do with the size of the molecules
i am no chemist, so i am just exploring these things

also, it may depend on your skin
i am a couple of years older then A Young
and my skin is thinning (aging being part of the issue)
hence that is a consideration as to the lvel and type and frequency of exfoliation

your skin maybe be thickening, for instance,
from things like sun exposure where it gets thicker to defend itself
as Michelle often mentions
i don't know

i am aware that you probably have heard/know this already
i am just trying to explain what i am exploring

i am looking at 'potentially thinning skin over prolonged frequent use'
and trying to find a balance and a level of usage for me,
while still enjoying the radiance and benefit of Liquid Gold

just trying to weigh up the pros and cons

p.s. the salon owner friend uses Medik8 for the more potent treatments, before and in conjunction with using derma rolers, laser etc
i have not tried this brand but had a browse through their stuff, looks very 'pro' and medical

I know, but sometimes the board here knows before that, as it was the case with e.g. Elemis.

For the price it's worth a shot. I also noticed the pads are in superdrug on offer as well. I have got the day ones and the extreme night ones. Be interested to see how you get on.
