I would like to argue but I worry you’re right! I will continue to deny it, though

Everything seemed to be all over the place. The store is usually tidy but it wasn't yesterday. They had the mini EDPs on one of the shelves. Also caviar gold, vitabase, lip oils, last serum, lashes, silk scrunchies, hair oil and hair perfume..

I went back yesterday on a whim. A lot quieter than it was on Sunday, that’s for sure. Sadly, no sign of any perfumes. I asked someone who was tidying and sorting in the area where the specials are if she had seen any perfume this week and she said no. I had a look elsewhere anyway and found a few Caviar Gold items by a till (if they were there on Sunday I wouldn’t have known because the tills were far busier). Didn’t buy, though.

I don’t think I’m meant to smell or buy any of the stupid perfumes. Off for a sulk.

Oooh, I like! How have I missed these? I have been in twice this week, although I wasn’t looking in the toiletries bit (is that where they were?). I’ll have to do some research later (what they’re copies of) and call in tomorrow. Thanks, M.

Very soft. Chestnut has a shimmer to it. Used it this morning and will see how long it lasts.

Brown I tested again. I started early today 6am travel in car to work and home by 5pm. It had smudged. I am having periods where I am having full on hot moments. The chestnut is a shimmer brown. I do like it. I'll try the black tomorrow.

Many thanks. I’ll head for that area! I have seen testers in Lidl, now you mention that. Unlike Aldi, yes, where people rip open boxes to try - even more annoyingly, they open more than one the same so it’s a waste and one less for someone to buy.

More of a mess today than my previous visit. I did get what I wanted. Update on the black eyeliner. A true black. Soft toy apply. Colour felt denser than chestnut brown. I like the softer colour of the brown.

Success! They had the perfumes today! All the men’s and women’s. Someone had opened one of each of the men’s ones but none of the women’s. I forgot to look for the minis but I think I would have seen them. The 100ml perfumes were where last Sunday’s Specialbuys were but the other things we had then had either gone or were scattered elsewhere around the store. Honestly, it’s a real mess. You have to literally walk up each aisle and look at everything in case you miss whatever you’re looking for. They had the Bonded (hair) gift sets, which were meant to be in a few weeks ago, but they were in the same rack as socks and next to toys. The remaining WS Wonder (ColorWow) hair treatment bottles were in a tray with Neacafé cappuccino sachets. No, me neither!

No perfumes in my local Aldi have given up now. Will check out Lidil their dupes look interesting.

Yes same. Had to walk across each isle to find items. The hairdryer and vanity cases in a different place. Would be ideal to have all beauty items clustered together.

Finally found a " Forever Adore " perfume in Aldi pleased to say I really like it. However, does anyone know which perfume it is a dupe of? Still going to Lidl to check their selection out!!

It was one of the Estée Lauder dupe collection a few weeks ago, wasn’t it? And the one it’s supposed to be a copy of is Infinite Sky. The Daily Mail said it was Dolce & Gabbana Devotion, though.

I almost got the Allure Blanc as well because my friend with similar tastes loves it but I showed some self-restraint for once.

A few weeks ago I mentioned the Lidl beauty dupes to you all as I don't go to Aldi...I bought some of the MB stuff and was working my way through the Rose and Rhubarb hand-wash. I'm only a quarter of the way down (not cos I'm a soap dodger, it's because I'm the only person using it, honest) and lo and behold the flipping pump won't work now! Ive turned it round and round, both ways, unscrewed the top then put it back on, to no avail. So cross. Yes it was only £2.99 I think, but it's the flipping principle. I'm sure they won't accept it back as faulty so I'll have to go through the hassle of decanting it now.

I just wanted to say that my thoughts on the Classic Italia perfume have changed. I must have had something else on which confused my nose first time (well, I had earlier sprayed all the men’s fragrances in Aldi because someone had opened them) but it’s still strange because now I’ve worn the Classic Italia again, I smell completely different notes, not just a bit different. Within 10 minutes of spraying it on this morning, I got really strong incense and now that's the prevailing smell and I can’t detect the fresher, fruitier notes I thought it had before. I think it’s incense but I was reminded of Shay & Blue Black’s Club Leather and that doesn’t seem to have incense, according to their description. In any case, I would have called it a summer scent, now I’d say it’s a cosy winter smell. I don’t dislike it but I’m a bit disappointed.

Moral of the story: my nose is fickle, I’d make a lousy perfumier and you shouldn’t take recommendations from me!
