I used to watch a little bit of GemsTV etc, not because I wanted to buy anything, but just because I am quite interested in gemstones in general.

Since I discovered this forum about 6 months ago, I have learnt more from reading Meeshoo's posts than anything from Gems, Rocks & TJC combined.
Her posts are interesting, informative, very detailed & always a blooming good read.

So a big Thank You to Meeshoo from little ol' me! I hope you will be around for a long time to come x

Ditto. Thanks to her, I now know what to look out for and what to avoid when buying jewelery.

and me. Thank you Mr Marple for starting such a lovely thread and welcome to the forum. xxxxxxxxxx

Oh my goodness Mr Marple - thank you. If I could find a blushing smiley, I'd insert one here! (Argey, can you oblige please - but not one of your normal rude ones!). Also, can I second Argey's welcome? Please stick around and join in the banter. It's always good to have new faces join in and discuss our shared passion.

I really do appreciate your post. I know that for all those who like to read and discuss gems there are those who don't like my posts and over the years I've had my fair share of flak! However, it's you guys that keep me coming back to this forum and if I can ever help, I will.

I hope these gemstone/jewellery forums get a bit busier because several years ago it was so hard to keep up with the posts and photos of lovely purchases. It was a real treat to look at all the eye candy (and especially those interesting times when people "think" they've posted a photo of gems and *ahem* suddenly naughty photos appear - those who are long standing forum members will remember having burnt retinas by some of the images)!

So thank you Mr Marple. You've made my day.

Thank you also to my good friends on here who have said such kind things as well xxx

I don't know if you've ever done so before, or even thought about it Meeshoo, but I'd be one of the first ones therough the door if you opened a Jewellery store!

I've toyed with the idea and have actually bought gemstones for friends and designed and commissioned rings for them in the past but my problem is that if I started a business I'd probably never sell anything and keep it all for myself! Not sure that's a good business plan!

Here you go MrMarple, this is from Meesh <a href="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fwww.smileycentral.com%252F%253Fpartner%253DZSzeb008%255FZNxpt484YYGB%2526i%253D10%252F10%255F12%255F4%2526feat%253Dprof/page.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_12_4.gif" alt="SmileyCentral.com" border="0"><img border="0" src="http://plugin.smileycentral.com/http%253A%252F%252Fimgfarm%252Ecom%252Fimages%252Fnocache%252Ftr%252Ffw%252Fsmiley%252Fsocial%252Egif%253Fi%253D10%252F10_12_4%2526uiv%253D3.0/image.gif"></a>

Well! There is quite a bit of blushing going one. Maybe this is a little more delicate

They really were good days, Meesh ... so exciting and so much fun.

One of PP's pictures certainly was a 'gem' wasn't it? :giggle: .... the whole situation had me giggling for hours.

I live in hope the good times will roll again.

Nanny - that was tame compared to the *ahem* photos! What happened was, one of our lovely forum members (who unfortunately doesn't post anymore) posted a photo of a cat. Well, some people saw a cat but for some reason, others REALLY didn't. The thread was hilarious because the poster really thought she'd posted a photo of a cat and when she looked at the thread that's exactly what she saw. Others did too, but then for some reason others saw ............. well let's just say they had burned retinas for days. Scroll down for the description but close this thread now if of nervous disposition ..............

several older gentlemen in need of an iron, de-robed, romping en-masse.
