    Jade Troth is back

I’ve learned a lot from the gem enthusiasts on this site on what to do when buying. For example I ALWAYS look up stones on other sites and on gem information sites now before buying. Adina was gushing and babbling the other night about the rarest stone in the world she said called shattuckite...

    Jade Troth is back

Thank you so much . It’s a real minefield for people without much knowledge And for myself I don’t like to spend hard earned money on worthless things Who does. But I do like a bargain.

    Jade Troth is back

I know there are people on this thread who know a lot more about gemstones than I do. What do you think of Petroke Kunzite. Is it likely to be treated and what treatments are used. Would be very grateful for your views as I won one for good price on TJC auctions but as usual no mention of...

    Gemporia still sinking

Has anyone noticed that sometimes they have 2 different gold weights for the same item. I have mailed them about this a few times. Last time was a diamond necklace with one weight on screen and another on web page. They responded that they would look into it and get back to me. Needless to say...

    Gemporia still sinking

Seemed excessive to me too. Wondered if it was someone who had just lost confidence in the hype and wanted to return them all but I suppose she’d have to produce proof before they’d entertain the idea. There was no response from them.

    Gemporia still sinking

Wonder did anyone see the Gemporia review on trust pilot where a customer bought what was sold as type A jadeite and when she had it appraised was told it was type B.

    Gemporia still sinking

I think we are making a mistake to think of this channel as the channel we’ve shopped with for years. Really it’s a completely new entity with just the same name. It’s becoming obvious that from now on the vast majority if not all their offerings will be stuff from China that can be bought on...

    Ellis unapologetic about jade

I am now looking for replacement sites and would welcome any pointers. I do buy from TJC but they are a bit limited. A few names would be very welcome.

    Ellis unapologetic about jade

Whereas I sympathise with their business difficulties I have no sympathy at all with their shameless targeting of a particular group. This they do with their mantra “Put it away for your children and grandchildren”. I have heard a very sad story on this site about one of their victims. I think...

    Ellis unapologetic about jade

That’s what really gets me. People who can’t really afford it in these difficult times. Thinking they are building a valuable “portfolio” for their children . Have you noticed how “portfolio” is another word they are slipping into their presentations now. . Don’t know how they can sleep at...

    Ellis unapologetic about jade

When I had a look in today they were selling one of their cheap carved pendants and I noticed at the top of the description on screen they had “estimated retail value £2260. Surely this is illegal . Maybe someone with a better memory could correct me if it was a different channel but weren’t...

    Ellis unapologetic about jade

I don’t understand why people pay these ridiculous prices apparently without checking other sites. While they do I’m afraid we are stuck with endless jade. They won’t give up these profits. They’ll take a chance on losing customers who know they are being ripped off.

    Ellis unapologetic about jade

I think the chances of their giving up presenting jade are zero to nil. That jade bracelet which I saw for £4.48 on Temu has just sold out for £150. and i would bet my last cent that it’s exactly the same. Nice little profit.

    Dave the jadeite man

Saw that when I clicked on their site this morning. My first thought was did I make a mistake last night but on thinking it over I didn’t. It was on the the just missed list. near the necklace whose price was unaltered this morning at 255. Then it occurred to me that maybe they do look at this...

    Dave the jadeite man

It seems Dave is at it again. People are apparently calling in thanking him for his great prices. £149. Golden silk jade. Rare and valuable. Definitely heirloom material . I don’t think.

    Dave the jadeite man

Here is another example. Surely what they are doing is not legal. They r deliberately misleading customers by referring to these items as “legacy” and “heirloom “. The fact that customers mails sent to studio seem to indicate that they r targeting the elderly who may not even check prices on...

    Dave the jadeite man

Has anyone interested in buying jade looked up this site. They have pages and pages of Burmese jade at prices more in line with what they should be I.m.o. The prices on gems are ridiculous .

    Cavill&co

I’m new here too though I’ve been reading comments with interest. . I thought some of the Cavill pieces were lovely but did no one else think that some particularly the mandarin and some sapphires seemed included. Is it just me.
