I don’t understand why people resort to taking medication to lose weight unless their doctor has advised them to do so. Most people who are using it will probably put weight back on when they stop the medication and some have even prevented diabetics from getting their medication because of the uptake of the drug to people who want to be slimmer.
The best way to lose weight is by having a healthy and balanced diet. I have any underactive thyroid and anyone who also has this will know that weight gain is one of the delightful (not) side effects. I was fed up with not being my ideal weight and, despite being on the correct dose of levothyroxin I could only shift a few pounds when I tried to lose weight.
So, as some of you know from previous posts, at the end of January this year, I bit the bullet and joined a slimming club. On Thursday I reached my target of a four stone weight loss and, to be honest, I was amazed because I never thought I’d do it. I don’t think I could have done it without the support of the others (women and men) and I enjoy going because I’ve made a new group of friends and we do go out socially.
Although I’ve reached my target I’ll continue to go to the club as I’m now on their social committee, and, if I lose a bit more, that’s fine with me. I’ve never felt hungry, have ditched the rubbish I used to eat and feel much healthier now which is the main reason that I decided to shift the weight - to feel healthier.
The other bonus is that I’m now a size 12/14 so the Air Ambulance have received multiple bags of the clothes that now drown me. I know that because of my new healthy eating regime, which I really enjoy, I won’t put the weight back on. To be honest, I don’t relish having to buy another wardrobe of clothes either.
(Sorry for the long post.)
